If they would've made him head coach from the get go things probably would've turned out a lot different. I don't think Arians would've allowed Luck to take the punishment that he did under Pagano.
A lot of the punishment Luck has taken is that he holds onto the ball way too long. He's just not a quick decision maker like most mediocre qbs.
