Did the Eagles choose to send only 10 folks, or did only 10 Eagles choose to go? I did not see that the Eagles as an organization limited the number of attendees, but I may have missed it.
A list of 80 plus was submitted in the beginning of the year for security clearance processing. You can process the latest news how you will.

OK, so the organization submitted clearance requests for those who might attend based on information at that time. And a few of the players still intended to attend. Sounds like it was not the organization but rather the individual players that ended up being the limiting factor.

This wasn't a strong armed tactic by the Eagles, attendance was voluntary, and a majority indicated they wouldn't attend. Instead of honoring those attending, the Pouter in Chief cancelled the event. Not one single Eagle player knelt or sat during the anthem in 2017. If Trump can't get a full house, he won't have a party.

So before NFL ruling a security clearance request of 80 plus is submitted. After NFL ruling, only 10. Chris Long and Malcom Jenkins are very influential and outspoken on the anthem issue. It would be naive to believe there wasn’t a strong arm push. Not that it matters at this point, but a hand full of Eagle’s players did in fact protest through kneeling, but more symbolically with raised fists.

Owners collectively approved measures (besides one spineless one) and Trump is responsible? Instead of taking it out on the owners who didn’t consult with players, it’s the POTUS fault? Misdirected anger.

Your hate continually warps your perception.

Perhaps, but it is semantics as the players represent the organization. It’s patty-cake [BLEEP] from both sides.

I'll keep that in mind in a week when he sits down with KJU and accomplishes what no modern president has.

Personally, I don't believe that a single friggin tax dollar should ever be spent on parties for any well paid athletes/franchises. No matter their accomplishment.

Right there with you. It’s a rediculous modern day tradition that can fade away for all I care. If we wanted to get down to brass tacks, it could be viewed as an ethics violation. A multi-billion dollar business seemingly being endorsed by the office of the POTUS. Yeah, let it fade into the background.

Oh stop, it's (well, used to be) a harmless social event that we could all take a moment to enjoy. Now politics is killing those simple social things to our detriment.

Agree the political divide has killed quite a few seemingly innocent gatherings. But really in the realm of important things, this just isn’t one of them in my opinion. By the way, the ethics comment is more me being snarky than anything. It’s the type of argument you’d see today in an effort to squash the gathering. I don’t think any of us would be surprised to find this in some so-called news outlet.

Why? It would be about 2 seconds before CNNCBSMSNBC et al started screaming that he was establishing a State religion.

I don't blame you for being embarrassed. It takes a lot of fortitude to defend such a simpleton.

Pretty much.

I'm sorry. I must be mistaken.

Who's the one who canceled the event because some Eagles players weren't going and disregarded the ones who were? Trump very easily could have said "I will honor those Eagles players who still wish to come and am sorry others don't want to." He never tries to be the bigger person but instead gets upset and acts like a jilted ex girlfriend.

Interesting "perspective."

He plays the triggered like a fiddle.  And he knows it.  It's quite effective, I might add.

Like with Kim, if you can't come to an agreement you walk away from the table.  That's what he did after the Eagles became problem children regarding scheduling.  There's no time for nonsense.  But there you are wallowing in it like it's something.
