As an out of market fan in Nashville, I'm extremely appreciative even though it's only preseason. Awesome move, thank you to the organization!

EDIT: Actually I might have to retract my statement, lol. After reading the article it says, "The live stream will be accessible to fans in the UK, Mexico and affiliate markets in Jacksonville, Orlando, Daytona, Savannah and Gainesville."

So I guess that means I won't be able to take advantage of the games? Unfortunate if true.

Moving game(s) to London has done NOTHING to help Jacksonville. In fact, stealing home games away from Jacksonville robs Jacksonville of positive economic impact. Such positive impact was ALWAYS the FULL expectation of ANY potential NFL franchise owner. An NFL owner in Jacksonville MUST acknowledge he is part of a business deal - the same kind of economic boon OTHER NFL cities don't seem to have a problem sustaining without sacrificing most of their downtown real estate.

Is there ANYBODY in town that doubts the sustained GROWTH Jacksonville has made since 1995? Jacksonville is NOW ---- THE 12th largest city in the United States of America. How on earth can we still be considered to be the lowest television market?

The present Jacksonville Jaguars owner would be much wiser to buy 700,000 flat screen televisions and distribute them around town. 

Obviously, telling Jacksonville citizens to ditch their televisions relates to driving television market share DOWN DOWN DOWN.

You can see how terrific the team is WITHOUT Khan and Co. running the football side. Imagine how much BETTER it will be for Jacksonville WITHOUT Khan and Co. constantly tearing away the Jaguars at the franchise roots.

Jacksonville is the 12th largest “city” because it’s a consolidated city county. However it’s total market is therefore not as big as you would be led to believe due to  the overall metropolitan area being smaller because of said consolidation. 

Tampa, while only having a few hundred thousand people in city limits (small compared to Jax) it’s overall market is quite larger because of surrounding suburbs, cities, etc. for example, there’s thousands of people in Brandon, which is ten minutes from downtown on a good day, and even colloquially referred to as Tampa, but is technically not counted as Tampa city population.

The federal OMB determines population. They also draw the lines placing limitations upon what is a "metropolitan statistical area" and/or "Combined Statistical Area" (CSA).

Palm Coast is 61 miles from Jacksonville. Palm Coast is 81 miles from Orlando. Yet Palm Coast (85K pop) nor Flagler County (110K) are a part of the "Jacksonville metropolitan statistical area". 

Alachua county has 263K and is NOT part of Jacksonville's MSA. Try to tell me that Gainesville is not rightly a part of Jacksonville's MSA or CSA.

Lake City is NOT allowed in our area. (69K)


Our CSA should be well over 2M.
