Oh, I thought he made the 1st tackle.

Now I gotta go back and watch it again. Darn it!

He tallied one solo tackle, but his efforts forced several plays into the interior of the line of scrimmage allowing other defensive linemen to make run stops. One of the things you look for in a defense is do the linemen make a significant number of tackles?

The best defenses in NFL history all featured talented linemen routinely make a LOT of tackles at the line of scrimmage.

Since last season's training camp, we happen to be doing that for the first time in decades.

Keep Dimick on the roster even though he'll potentially be a healthy scratch each week.

Ooh! He just bit hard on the play action for Hill's TD run. Was completely fooled. Had no idea the RB didn't have the ball. And rewatching the game (I was in and out, trying to catch a couple z's b4 work), he definitely did nothing (much).

Wasn't good.

Keep in mind that Bryan and Smoot are both ahead of Dimick at the big end spot, but they both missed the game along with Campbell. Dimick started, but he's basically the fourth LDE.

My understanding of Dimick is that he has raw, natural strength that allows him to have a bit of a bull rush, but he's always been a bit stiff as an edge rusher.

Not so fast. With Tavon and Smoot still out, Dimick is currently rotating with Campbell in practice with the firsts.

Last year Dimick started learning the FB position like Patrick Ricard in Baltimore. So far in camp I haven’t seen him lineup at FB once.
