LOL .... we were all worried when Jalen stayed home with his newborn. Sounds like he found a way to get a free week to chill with the baby.
So from what I gathered, it was Fowler causing the trouble and Ramsey was sticking up for other teammates? If that’s the case and Fowler’s being a disruption, Would we trade him? Seems all but a lock he’s not getting a long term deal here.
Young men being young men, thats how I see it. What worries me more than anything these guys getting suspended, did on twitter, or the field scuffles is the 'beef' allegedly continued afterward? That is a little concerning from a maturity standpoint to whoever can't let go of the incident(if that is the case).

Why's it gotta be Coughlin? Marrone in no BS too.
I'm with Jalen here, no need to film that crap and put it out there. Personally I'd wish they'd ban all social media during the season for players. Just seems risky. ![]()
DF is just a kid. Hell, so are JR and YN. What Dante needs is tough love and a mentor. Hes a neighbor and he's always been OK to me.
Thought not receiving an extension would motivate him (or his agent). TC won't put up with a lack of discipline. YN has more upside than DF.

See you in week 1 when it matters. (08-12-2018, 07:04 PM)StroudCrowd1 Wrote:(08-12-2018, 07:02 PM)Nashville.Dave Wrote: I wonder if the jags can handle this new success. Serious question. From what has been reported Fowler hit TE oshanessy after he made a catch out of bounds and a lil scuffle occured and they ended practice after that. Yanick took it apon himself to talk to the defense as a leader would to calm the situation. apperantly Fowler did not like being talked to by Yan and had some words for him as they where leaving practice and thats when the video started. Ramsey went off on the reporter for filming it and posting it and tweeted about going to war with the #lameassreporters(probably why he got suspened)
Ok I was a bit confused because of how dramatic this seemingly is.
1. A reporter filmed a scuff between Yan and Dante 2. Jalen in the recording tells the reporter “stop filming, what the @;%# is wrong with you?!” 3. Reporter tweets out video 4. Jalen writes a semi threatening tweet 5. That’s literally all Normally I’d side with the player on this, but this is just kinda stupid. I was kinda half way expecting a racist tweet from the reporter for the reaction Jalen had. But nope, the reporter was just doing his job. So shame on Jalen this time. It’s only a week suspension not a game suspension for Jalen, so it’s whatevs.

For those of us out of state, we don't always know what's going on. This explains it all. It's nice to be "in the loop." We show less advertisements to registered users. I can see why Ramsey got mad, but at the same time, I like what the team did. It's more or less giving the players a warning that the team is serious about keeping this stuff in check. They do it without actually punishing Ramsey by missing game time that counts. As far as Dante goes, I really look for us to trade him before the season ends. He's becoming a distraction and we are solid at the DE position. He can get us a high draft pick in return if we trade him to a team that he signs with long term. He's basically on a one year deal, so it would be wise to get a deal done. Maybe we include Fowler and ask him where he wants to go, so he can sign with them long term and we can get the price we want for him.

We were all shocked that Fournette got suspended for so little last year. This is Tom and Marrone setting the tone.
Ramsey is going to be lit up about not practicing against the Vikings. Also, by suspending Ramsey now during training camp, it sets the early line in the sand for his contract negotiations that he has a history of conduct unbecoming of a Jaguar. He was ejected twice (against Raiders his rookie year and against AJ Green last year) in a regular season game and now this.

For those not watching the video, Jalen met with reporters after practice, not coming out to apologize, but to discuss he had issues with what reporters have been putting out. Thought there was too much negativity being put out there. Left reporters with the feeling that the video wouldn't be posted. Shortly after sees the video on twitter and comes out with his own tweets toward the local media. Maybe the guy that did it wasn't there, but can understand his reasoning for being upset. When Yannick tried to be a leader and talk to Fowler about his conduct on the field, he wasn't having it and the envy he felt for Ngakoue spilled out in the form of anger. I honestly believe that since he was a high draft pick, Dante feels like he should automatically be a leader and be loved by the franchise. There are some players that are like this. Yes, Fowler is productive, but when he is fighting with his own teammates, the writing is on the wall. I truly believe we could flip him for a 2nd round pick at the lowest, maybe a first. |
