What if Westbrook is the best WR

The best size comparison for Westbrook is Marvin Harrison I think Cole and Westbrook will separate themselves from the west of the WR this year with Chark making a good push. All I was thinking reading this. Also Odell Beckham ain't exactly big either, neither are guys like Stefon Diggs and of course Larry Fitzgerald. No one said you had to be a big Calvin Johnson type to be a WR1. Just because some or maybe even most can't get the job done, doesn't mean it can't be done or is even necessary. Just different types of receivers. Smaller guys happen to work on their route running and quick feet which usually pays dividends towards the length of their career. Look at a guy like Dez that dropped off a cliff as he got slower because he always relied on his athleticism alone to get the job done.
I like Westbrook to break out this year. He's shown some amazing body control in preseason practices and made a few "wow" catches last year.
Sadly, the best one he made last year didn't count - he got ruled out of bounds, but replay clearly showed he amazingly got his toes in bounds as he laid out. Unfortunately, the cameras were obscured by players on the sideline when he hit the ground, so replay couldn't prove the entire process of the catch. You can't teach that stuff, and I think he will be really good.

Then he played very well during the preseason last year before his injury. He even still had a pretty solid rookie campaign. Fast forward to this offseason, he’s still looking good in camp and looked even better in game action. Maybe he could be our star receiver? He needs to do better than last year if he wants to be a star. Guy looked like a stud in preseason and camp last year too. Then the lights came on and he went to just being 'alright.' Hopefully goes better this year. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! It'd be nice if he can turn into a TY Hilton/Desean Jackson mix. Big play guy.
technically he is our most talented wr. im rooting for cole. still hate the lee resigning.
For all the people coming up with Dede Westbrook (6-0, 178) comparisons its wonderful if Dede was actually as good as Marvin Harrison (6-0, 175) , Antonio Brown (5-10, 181) or T. Y. Hilton (5-9, 180), and ODD that not a one of you could conjure up Wes Welker (5-9, 185), Steve Smith (5-9, 185), Tavon Austin (5-8, 176), Ace Sanders (5-7, 178), Devin Hester (5-11, 190) or even Percy Harvin (5-11, 184)
Westbrook played just SEVEN games his first season after being a fourth round pick in the 2017 draft. He may have had a couple dozen catches, but in doing so did he demonstrate big play reliability? IF Westbrook did have the explosiveness that it takes to make big plays why did he only return one single punt? By comparison, Marqise Lee, a player least likely to be the vision of a explosive punt returner had FIVE punt returns. So you can glorify Westbrook in order to forward an agenda, but obviously Dede has durability concerns at his size. Undeniable durability concerns for sure.
I don't have any reason to question Dede. He only took to the field for the first time as a rookie mid-way through the season, and sense then he's had several very impressive catches including a few demonstrating explosiveness. Since we're into comparing stats, let's take a look...

Per rotoworld:
Quote: Jaguars.com reports Dede Westbrook has remained a standout throughout training camp.
"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."

In other words, you keep making these observations based on a handful of games. Your conclusions are just as dumb as those that would proclaim him to be a star. And I don't see anyone doing that.
I skipped ahead so I may be piggy backing here but I think next season our #1 and #2 could be Cole and Westbrook with Chark in the slot.
Westbrook was a first round talent who fell because of past issues and character concerns. And sometimes guys just fall through the cracks when they play at places like Western Kentucky or whatever... lol We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Sad thing is that you only continued to make yourself look like an ignorant fool.

Quite a paper Jaguar some of you are attempting to create. A little wisdom for the wise, Don't write checks Dede Westbrook's body can't cash.
I trust Keenan and the coaches to put the best available players on the field. We have a lot of potential in that WR room. It's just a matter of who can stay healthy.
No pain, no gain.
