Does anyone watch Last Chance U on Netflix? I'm on S2 now. It's a fascinating look into junior college football and especially one that takes in "troubled" players from the big colleges. You know the ones who get busted for a crime and ousted from the university they were playing for.

It's both fascinating and aggravating to watch. These guys are so undisciplined, even in football, to the point of exasperation. I figure if football is the only thing you have to live for you should be super disciplined and diligent in learning so you're good at it. Not so much with these kids. It's like watching a train wreck. You want to look away but you can't.

In another note, I had to stop watching Suits. Between the constant use of the GD word, the characters becoming total jerks and the story disintegrating I just couldn't take anymore. I can tolerate some foul language but not when that particular word is being used so often that if you were to take a shot of your favorite liquor every time they said it you'd be trashed by the end of the episode. No thanks.

I haven't watched the Bruce Willis one. Will have to look for it. I did just finish watching The Sinner with Jessica Biel. That was an interesting story from the USA network adapted from a book written by a German author. I

Also on season three of Bosch on Prime.

Heard The Sinner was good. Definitely need to check it out.

As good as Shatner?

IMO, yes... Some of these roasts have missed the mark to me...
But Shatner, Rob Lowe, and Bruce Willis are probably my top 3.

So glad Westworld is finished. It became a chore, but I kept holding out hope the ending would make it all worthwhile. It didn't. They say Season III will be a whole new story, thank goodness.

Ozark was so good.
Netflix really has a good number of original content shows. I'd say 8 out of 10 I end up really enjoying.

I dunno if its a network thing... ABC and Fox also have canceled some shows in a manner that left me scratching my head.

Fast Forward -ABC
Freaks & Geeks - NBC
Revolution - NBC
Firefly - FOX
Invasion -ABC
Reunion - FOX

These are just some of my favorite shows from years past that were cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons.
In the case of Reunion, the ratings were so bad they cut it short and left everyone hanging...

These shows are the reason why I tend to wait until 2 or 3 seasons of a show have released and then I try to stream, binge, to catch up.

We just finished up season 4 of Bosch. That was way better than I expected.

Snowfall is amazing I haven't kept up with the newest season since it's like SoA something I have to make sure the kids are in bed before I watch it. I'll probably have to catch season 2 on Netflix but season one was amazing. Fx had some of the best programing for a while. SoA, Americans, Snowfall, Justified, Legion

Snowfall is very good. I enjoy the movies and series that have come out about that era, from both the US and Central American perspective.

Coming next month on Fx will be the SoA spinoff Mayan MC.

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is actually a fantastic show. I didn't think it was going to be that good when I started watching with my wife but it was awesome.

Also started watching suits which is good.

I tried recording Condor but couldn't watch because I don't have the correct DirecTV 4k equipment, or so I surmised.

Edit: It appears the current episodes require a DirecTV 4K receiver, but the archived episodes do not. I recorded episodes 1-8.

Suits was good for the first two seasons. S3 got bogged down by a tiresome storyline and everyone got really grouchy and [BLEEP]. S1 was the best. I could have not watched another season after the first one and been happy.

I couldn't get into Maisel. I tried but it just didn't work for me.

Has anyone watched Flint Town on Netflix? It's an interesting look into a city that has been decimated by crime, the water issue, poverty, etc. At one time there were about 300+ police officers who patrolled the city of about 100k people and at the time this was filmed they were down to 100 officers thanks to crooked politicians and mismanagement of funds. 100 officers to cover 100K people in one of the most crime ridden cities in the country.

They follow the Flint PD as they go on patrol, during roll call at the start of shifts, meetings the Chief of Police has with various folks. They also go a little into the private lives of the cops and what their thoughts are on whatever issue is being focused on.They talk to members of the community, show when Sanders and Clinton and Trump rolled into town before the POTUS election. I was surprised at how many folks in the community seriously hated Clinton among the black populace. Many of them were for Sanders even though they didn't think he was the best option either. Most of the white folks were for Trump. The cops didn't have an opinion, at least not in the first 6 episodes which is where I left off.

The saddest thing I've heard so far is a mother saying she tells her son to stay out of trouble because he doesn't know if he'll have a good cop or a bad cop that shows up. WHAT? I had to hit the pause button to digest that one. You don't tell him not to get into trouble because it's the right thing to do but he needs to worry about the kind of cop that will show up?! This is parenting?

It's an interesting look at a part of our country that in years past was THE place to move to and prosper thanks to the motor companies- until they left town.

I'm about 4 episodes in.. it's really well filmed and very honest. I was surprised that the Police staff got away with saying as much as they did, but all in all, a good thought provoking look at policing in a town so hard up on resources.

The lead-poisoning in the water certainly didn't help, either.

I appreciate the honesty on both sides. I may not understand some of the thought processes but that's one reason why I watch shows like this so I can be challenged in how I think about and see things and gain new perspective. I believe when we stop listening we become way too stuck in our "box" and we become more divisive as people and as a society.

Last Chance U on Netflix is another one that challenges me. It also aggravates me how these kids have been raised in environments where football is the end all be all. If you don't make it to the NFL your life is ruined. There seems to be absolutely no backup plan, at all. If they get dropped from the football program at one school they can just apply to and go somewhere else. Education is not the focus.

Yeah I found this too.. I have to say, I tried hard with Last Chance U.. I got mid-way through the first series and couldn't get much further..

I finished the second season with EMCC. It was hard, I FFwd through a lot of the last few episodes. They filmed at a different school for the third season. I may try it out. Those kids can't be worse than Kam. That kid just pissed me off. Also, De'Andre Johnson from S2 is from Jacksonville. I thought it interesting to see a local kid albeit not for the reasons he would have wanted to be. He was booted out of FSU for hitting a woman in a bar and it was caught on camera.

I watched the last two episodes of Flint Town last night. Ep 7 kind of drove me nuts with all the political stuff due to the election. It helped me to see how people from different sides thought though. The black cops wanted Clinton, the white cops wanted Trump. The black folks in general wanted anyone except Trump but there were some who did vote for him solely on his promise of bringing jobs back to America. A white cop voted for him almost exclusively because he was pro police, other than that it's like- we had craptastic choices. Another one said her choices were [BLEEP] either way.

The end of episode 8 about killed me. I won't spoil it but you'll probably know what I'm talking about when you see it. I kind of want a season two because I want to see the political fallout from the community regarding decisions made but I think the season stands well on it's own.

I just got done watching season 8 of Shameless. It was probably my favorite season yet. If you haven't seen this show, I highly recommend it.
