Jim Rome's Take on Jalen Ramsey -- must listen

#1

Well, now that 1010xl ruined one of my favorite sports talk shows, I went online to find something else to listen to.  I haven't listened to Jim Rome in a while but found his show from 8/15/2018 --- He lead off the show talking about Jalen's interview with GQ

This is great --- it's a must listen to !!!

Reading through it the overriding impression I got was he must follow Ramsey around trying to collect his discarded paper towels. It goes beyond worship.

Love it.

Someone called into NFL radio saying Jalen was "stupid" for making those comments. There's nothing stupid about it. He's just being real.

I don't like it but those things aren't really my thing. What is really important about Jalen is him backing it up on the field. As long as he isn't an also ran at his position still bringing the same tired talk all will be well. He knows he has to back it up on the field so he can go for the talk.

This is how I feel about it.

Edited to add: I don't know why it's considered okay to trash talk people. I mean, if you want to talk smack on the field while you're playing them, that's one thing. To just spew hate and discontent is something else and to call someone "trash" is doing just that. I like the guy as a player but as person, not so much.

And Jim Rome? Good grief. I think he'd live in Ramsey's jock if he could.

Sounds like this line should be moved to the Politics Section .... Lol

Careful how you tread on Jim Rome. He was the first national exposure the Jacksonville Jaguars got. Nobody, I mean nobody gave us any respect. Jim did. I seriously think he was on our bandwagon before the historic 1996 season began.

You must not know how little I care about how much sports media respects the Jaguars. With a few exceptions they're a bunch of hacks who only like our team when we're good and even then most times it's in a backhanded way. Like- "yeah the Jags beat the Patriots but it's only because so-and-so was off his game and someone else was out due to injury." It's rarely ever because we actually beat them. The same with any team we beat.

So yeah, I don't care about Jim Rome or his Ramsey obsession. He's a grown man and sounds like some Miley Cyrus fangirl. He should be embarrassed.

No, because I never used the words "snowflake" or "libtard". Otherwise you might have a point.  Cool

I've always thought a little trash talk on the field was what it was all about. Not a big fan of running your mouth in interviews though. Those things have a way of coming back to haunt you.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I stand with Ramsey. He's not a pro's pro but he'll keep it real. He hasn't done anything on or off the field that has made me question his integrity as a man or as an athlete. Reporters will use enabling tactics to solicit an impulsive response to create drama or controversy where there isn't anything just trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Typical media in this country.
No pain, no gain.

Ramsey is wise beyond his years. Rogers and brady are pretty good company for mariota to be ranked with...

Haha... You read wrong...

Quote:I think Marcus Mariota is a great quarterback for their team.
Fact check: True. Mariota threw 13 touchdowns and 15 interceptions last season. That’s unimpressive, but so were the Titans. He’s a perfect fit for that team. Slate
He doesn't play for your team and in face plays against them twice a year. He loves that Mariota sucks.

You're starting to hear a lot of talking heads kind of nodding to the fact that Ramsey was right on most of the players he had an opinion on.

Ramsey is a stud. Let's just hope he continues to back up his talk with all pro play.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I mean... every year we talk about how there are 4 or 5 elite QBs and then some above average and the rest kinda suck...

That's essentially what he did while not mentioning about 8 or 9 starting QBs altogether.

It's just cuz it's Ramsey.
And it's the Jags.

It's hard to disagree really with his points. I think the problem is he's a current player in the league. It's a little disrespectful to be talking down about fellow players in the league.

That being said I personally don't care. As long as they win football games. If I was the coach however I think I would care.

Mention Romes name and this is what always comes to mind for me.
