It’s nice seeing a team that doesn’t have high profile cuts.

No more “we cut Donovan D.” or “Fred is outta here” or “Garrard is our starting Qb”

Or Charles Sharon... gosh we’ve come along way

About what I expected. Really no surprise. Eli didn't do much in the preseason and made the 53, must have showed something last year.

Praying for health all around all season, but specifically for Telvin/Myles. Depth at LB is non existent. Maybe they can pick up a LB or two from cuts.

We don’t have a backup Sam either. Brown is decent enough depth for Telvin but after that....? This should hopefully be addressed in the coming days.

He was waived/injured.  He's not on IR.

Assuming he doesn’t get claimed, he’ll revert to IR. The unspoken rule in the nfl is that teams don’t claim waived/injured players - unless you’re Gene Smith.

Good question. I'd guess either Smoot or Ankou.

Everything went pretty much as I expected aside from two moves. I was thinking Wilds or Koyack would have made if over Greene on offense. On defense, I was thinking the undrafted rookie MLB Matuapuaka was going to make it over either Brown or Payne especially after standing out on STs the last week. Hopefully, Wilds and Matuapuaka end up on the PS.

Koyack is the only real surprise on the cuts list. Figure guys like Meeks/Myrick, Wynn, and Lee should make it to the practice squad if they aren't picked up by other teams. Also if I'm a backup defensive tackle or a safety, I'd be pretty nervous over the next couple days. Three backups at each position is a high number, especially at DT where both Bryan and Campbell likely kick inside on passing downs.

Despite Smoot not doing much in camp/preseason, I doubt they cut a third round pick from last season who was pretty solid in his limited time. Ankou or Bennett would be my guess since we have a glut of DTs currently on the roster.

Did we really not keep Meeks? Dude is a starter if you cultivate his talent.

I think more so in camp practice than in the preseason games.

Don't know, TBH.  I think had Meeks held on to those would be INTs, he would be on the roster....or at least a tougher cut.

Exactly! Not to mention those two INTs were easy TDs as well. He dropped his roster spot and a lot of money. Big difference in pay between minimum rookie on 53 and PS player.

I thought he readily outplayed him.  Meeks is a perfect PS candidate. Still too raw. He has a knack for jumping routes though.

Herndon looked really natural at nickel dropping in coverage as well as coming up against the run. Good instincts for the ball - not shy about hitting.  He wasn't perfect with angles a couple of times, but seemed to diagnose the play quickly very often.

Yes. Both in practice and in the games.

I really like this roster.

All I can really complain about is O-Line depth and feeling a little light at LB depth.
One more TE that can catch would be gravy. Hopefully they PS a developmental guy there.

Everything else looks fantastic.
