***OFFICIAL*** NFC Championship Game Day Thread

Fortunately, Sherman was not all bad. He called out Seahawks fans for throwing popcorn on Navorro Bowman while he was carted off.

Quote:Seahawks fans love it

Id rather the nfl stay out of this and not try to censor everything players say.
They love it because he is a stud right now. Let someone who is marginal do this. His shtick will wear on them in time.

Always unfortunate when a great player has to run his mouth. Pride comes before the fall. It's always true.

Quote:That was my point. The media wins here. They will tune in hoping to see the guy make more outlandish comments which make him look foolish so they can then complain.

Right so fans are NOT turned off by his comments. They like having something to root against.

I disagree again. Makes for good tv, gives us something to talk about and nice to not get the politically correct answer in every single interview.

People who hate on Sherman will watch him play, hoping to see him fail.  Others who like him will also watch him play just to see him have success.  The media and Sherman win in the end.

Exactly. Deep down inside, people want exactly what they are arguing against.

I was not. But try to think of what I said on a subconscious level, not so literally.

Quote:Put him on a team with a mediocre, or rebuilding defense and he is average.

I watched alot of Seattle's defense this season, and they literally maul receiver on their routes and dont get called for it 70 percent of the time.

His only technique he is good at is lateral movement with his shadowing. You get him in motion on pick and crossing routes and he is toast unless he grabs and holds the receivers.

He is a product of the defense because he can rely on safety help when he is beat. Again, put him on a mediocre defense and he is toast.

If you think that's all that makes him look good, watch this video.

Which again backed up my claims that he is a product of a good defense.

Again, he has the luxury of being able to gamble with guesses (or disguises) because of good safety help, put him on a defense where safety play is questionable, and he is average at best.

Some of the QB's who targeted Sherman in this video (just like Kapernick's last throw) did not place the ball on the sidelines where only the WR not Sherman had a chance. As much as people would like to celebrate Sherman's abilities on those kind of play's, the QB did not make the proper adjustment on those type of throws.

Also he admits in the video, he grabs the skin of a receiver to gain the advantage. That tells me he is not confident in his ability to cover a receiver off of full releases at the LOS.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.
