I guess this was a smart move for you lol.

I'm still waiting for your alternative.  All you ever do is come on here and whine.

Oh....lol

Why should I give you one? Answer that.

If you weren't a lazy **** you would use Google. There are a few names out there way better than Flowers.

For people who do not understand how bad Flowers is. Look at these film study videos. These are fundamental issues and habitual/instinctual issues that cannot be fixed within season.

Oh wow what a surprise.

All you do in this board is come bash people who are critical of the team, you pretty much never give an opinion on anything, you just like to be an *******. You also were like this in the early years of the Gene Smith era, how did that work out for you buddy?

You aren't winning here buddy. Why should I answer to you? I know what kind of person you are.

The fact is, it was stupid to sign Flowers, period.

If you don't have a better alternative, then your argument is wrong. As horrible as Flowers is, he may legitimately be the best tackle on the market. So, unless you have a better option, then you're not making a point.

The thing many are pointing out. Most of us feel they are over valuing "experience against NFL quality DE's" in the assessment of best on the market. Over past few years the biggest thing we always hear is how OT don't get enough reps unless they are with the Number 1 team, so that might be what they are basing this on.

So for a "break glass for emergency" starter, they think Flowers is better than getting a young guy from some other team's practice squad. I get that working in a young guy onto the team in season is not great, but the tape on Flowers shows many mistakes and flaws that you would probably see in many players who don't have that experience either.

Maybe it is because it is at the end of the week and Wells trended down instead of up, and they will do a more thorough search next week?

Funny how you criticize my posting when all you do is say X player sucks, X coach is horrible....pretty easy to do that.  Pretty lame.

Off the top of my head (to be fair, a little Google research too) there are others out there: Alex Boone (hes played some LT), Austin Howard (same), and gulp...Joeckel.

Who knows....maybe Coughlin, Marrone, and Flaherty can spit and tape Flowers together to be a functional LT. Not holding my breath though. Hell, maybe Josh Walker can be functional.

God I feel bad for Blake... he's going to be running for his damn life...

He already has been. He better have some peepers in the back of his skull.

I think we all agree flowers is bad, but this is simply a signing to add depth to out depleted o line. To say our GM blows because he added one of the few tackles available on the market is just asinine. Flowers has rare size and is only 24. Maybe they think they can fix him.

Its getting bad, Bortles is going to have to step up in a way he never has to overcome this line right now.

Maybe he needed a change of scenery. It wont be the first time a player sucked and went to another team and looked decent. We have been burned quite a few times on that

That's weird, I've seen this exact phrase three times now today. Where is this narrative coming from?

He is 60th percentile in height, 64th percentile in arm length, and 32nd percentile in hand size. He's barely above average in size, if that. He also isn't a rare athlete if anyone tries to go with that angle.

I can already see the excuses for blake when he plays awful next. Lack of oline doesnt cause the innacuracy of blake on most his throws, blakes trashness does

Jags desperate with O-line injuries. They gotta do what they gotta do.

Didn't I see in another thread a few days ago that we didnt have to worry the Jags would take Flowers because of "bad blood between him and a coach that is here now"? That either couldn't have been more wrong or the Jags just are that desperate for O-Line help.

Maybe it'll work out.
