I wonder how much of it is a lazy/work ethic thing? Probably quite a bit. I still remember this from the post game conference. He obviously isn't putting in the work in the film room.

How could a guy with his physical tools fail so spectacularly? He got good coaching. I don't recall any serious injuries that hindered his ability to play. Heck, I don't even recall any substance abuse issues with him. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

The Flowers signing certainly smacks of desperation to get bodies on the depth chart at tackle.
I'm just hoping Flaherty and Hackett have some plans to give some help to whoever starts. Hopefully they adjust the game-plan a bit from week to week to limit Blake's vulnerability from that side.
I seem to recall them experimenting with Cann at LT during camp a couple of years ago. If it gets bad enough for the team to try him at LT again, I wonder if Flowers could kick inside to G.

Are they thinking that at least with his bulk, he at least may be able to run block? I'm thinking Coughlin knows him a bit more having been his HC for a couple years, and that there would be even more turmoil and bad mouthing among fans if Joeckel returned. He's like, Ephraim Salaam bad. Woooow! How do u sign a guy that has nothing but tape of getting embarrassed. They even saw it first hand week one. How do they rationalize all the tape on him. Surely there was a body on someone's practice squad that couldn't do any worse.

If he's not as bad, he's darn close. Ironically, the Jags have had both the best and the worst LT's of any teams I have ever seen in my lifetime. Tony Boselli was the best and Salaam was the worst.
Oh, the calamity! I kind of missed this board being in meltdown mode and parts of this thread reminded me of one of my favorite South Park moments:

TC and the coaches know him and will see what he has to offer. Also, where is this endless list of quality LT's just sitting about? A lot of average LT's getting paid crazy money due to that. The O line is becoming the weakest position with true quality depth across the league. Yes, anyone who has watched a Giants game has seen Flowers get beat but we have to get lucky with a pickup at some point?! We show less advertisements to registered users. Joe Thomas is probably the last elite NFL OT we'll ever see, unless the college game completely changes in the near future.
Well, he could play better here. Sometimes with the right motivation, the right circumstances and learning how to bend ones legs; one could become serviceable.
