You think it's possible, now that Khan has withdrawn his bid to buy Wembley Stadium and the league has met regarding the viability of the Chargers in Los Angeles now that PSL revenues are some $250 million or so below anticipated revenue and the team is not being supported at all, the hacks and talking heads in the media would connect the dots and have the Chargers move to London?

Me neither.

Chargers ownership screwed up big time.  They don't understand the history of the LA Market and/or they didn't care.  I get that they had a stadium issue but the market was solid.  They irked the fan base and are second fiddle to the Rams.  Oh and further victory for the RAMS is their owner will be in charge of the stadium.

Neither team should have been allowed to move to LA to be honest

Interesting. Maybe they will go back to San diego. LA just isn't as good a football market as owners always think. The Rams made sense (as did the Raiders) the chargers never did.

I think that scenario is more likely, but only if there's new ownership.  San Diego would welcome the team back with open arms.  Just not with any Spanos as the owner.

I think it is a blow to the Jaguars, because the purchase would have given Khan a stranglehold on the lucrative London games, with more control over when we play and more opportunity to make money from the games. Missing out means we lose all that and the door opens for other teams to get a foothold in the market (maybe at White Hart Lane).

Despite the embarrassing British media reports, this was never about moving the Jaguars, it was about strengthening the Jaguars. And that’s what we’ve lost.

(And on your final point, I don’t think it’s the English fans who are to blame, it’s the short-sighted, small-minded, blazer-wearing old farts who make up the FA Council and who have held English soccer back for decades)

I just wanted to really clear this whole thing up for everyone, from what I gather reading all of the articles.

Shad buying Wembley is a clear indication that the Jags are done in Jacksonville.  

Shad not buying Wembley is a clear indication that things are now worse for the Jags in Jacksonville.  

Being that not once in any of the articles have I seen mention of the investment Shad has made in the city, or his history here, or his statements indicate his being tired of this issue, and that his actions speak for themselves, all of that is truly insignificant.  

I imagine if Shad bought burial plots for him and his whole family at the stadium, ran for mayor of Jacksonville, had Tony run for Corrine Brown's former seat, then purchased the Landing and renamed it "SHAD'S LIFETIME LANDING" this would also be a nefarious plot to trick the people of Jacksonville and actually would be a plan to move the team to Istanbul within the next few years, by 2020 at the latest.  In the middle fo the night.

I think the perception vs. the reality here is the problem.

National (and international) media types speculate regularly about the Jags moving to London.  That talk dissipated to some extent, but then Shad put a bid in to buy Wembley, and they cranked it up again.  Then a tabloid floated accusations by a disgruntled employee, and it went to another level.  At no time did Shad ever deviate from what he has been saying all along, that the team is committed to staying in Jacksonville.  Their investments in the city would certainly support that notion.

Unfortunately, we've been part of the relocation nonsense for almost as long as the team has been playing, so fans tend to get a little paranoid every time these suggestions come up in the media.  Many think where there's smoke, there's fire.  However, in most instances, where there's smoke, there's a lazy journalist behind the keyboard relying on extremely old data, or old media reports, sometimes from the Weaver era.

You're right that Khan could erect a 100' statue of himself declaring DTWD as he greets people at the Duval County line, and there are going to be people who believe the rumor mill every time it ramps up.  A lot of those people don't support the team to begin with, and they would be quite content to see it move.  But, these are the same people who think changing the town's name from Cowford to Jacksonville was a mistake too.

Frenette has a column in the paper that talks about the viability of the franchise in Jacksonville. I always get worried when I read this from guys like him.
