Could Kessler win with this team.

Not gonna lie. He makes a slightly convincing case. I just don’t think Kaep is as good as he is trying to sell him. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
What did Kessler do wrong yesterday exactly to where we shouldn't have any confidence in him starting? He isn't a miracle worker but we played some decent offense for a change. With no practice reps or game planning around him. The only time an issue came up was instant blind side pressures.
No pain, no gain.
He (Kessler) would need extra protection, because teams would blitz him. Might need a two-RB set, with Hyde or Yeldon as an extra blocker.

Plus, if you sign him to a team in a military, patriotic town like Jacksonville, you will alienate a significant portion of your fan base (whether or not you agree with them). You could get away with it in a west coast or northeast metropolis. But not in the south (or the heartland). I don't think there's a qb available that can change the trajectory of this season, given all the injuries. The mistake was baked in the off season. Our current players need to play better and stop scapegoating one person. When you can lock down your man consistently, get back to us. When you can get sacks or turnovers, get back to us. When you can beat the man in front of you, get back to us. Until then, stop being big old whiny babies. ![]() Fix the O-Line!
I think people are living in the past with Kaepernick. He was absolutely abysmal the last time he played and he hasn't played a snap in over 2 years... he also has expressed little interest in even playing anymore outside his claims of being blackballed right after his last season.
Bringing is Kaepernick reeks more of desperation than trading for a Bridgewater or a Bradford. This coming from a FAN of Kaepernick, as the player. I genuinely find him very, very annoying as a person. But he really had a shot as a player and he was fun to watch. But his career is over... Might as well start calling for the FO to get Michael Vick here if were going to continue on with this Kaepernick nonsense. We show less advertisements to registered users. Per @NextGenStats, #Jaguars receivers are averaging 3-5 yards of separation on 50.3% of their routes, 7th best in the NFL.
Just need an accurate QB with a quick release who can read a defense..... (10-22-2018, 07:39 AM)Jagwired Wrote: Well this thread got answered. He failed miserably when his chance was given. Imagine that. Even with the natural spark that will occur given the change at the position it led to 7 lousy points. Kessler sucks. Was it the immediate drive down for a touchdown that was the failing miserably? Or the defense immediately perking themselves back up and forcing several stops? I'm confused.
The jaguars offense is crossers , throwing to the flats and the occasional intermediate in/out. Kessler can run it easily , so could Tyrod.

Kessler can literally do anything Bortles can do throwing the ball, but do it quicker and more accurately. He won't evade the pass rush or run like Bortles, and he probably isn't as durable as Bortles. Choose which you'd rather have. I want to give the guy who, ya know, throws the ball functionally a shot. It very well may fail considering the surrounding talent at the moment...but it's worth a shot. The hope is that with Fournette, Hyde and Yeldon to run the ball with after the bye that we can just do what we did in the early half of 2017. Keep the defense fresh with long drives and keep in short 3rd downs. I'd probably argue Kessler will make our receivers perform better with his pin point accuracy too. We likely lose to the eagles regardless and are 3-5 with the season basically over.
Arron rogers, and tom brady being qbs here couldn't help this team unless they brought thier HC with them. Jags still have a lousy HC.

Against soft zone in basically garbage time. What's to be confused about.

However, he made quick and accurate decisions with the ball. He's built for a west coast offense. We know, at this point, that Blake can't handle the circumstances right now. Might as well give Kessler a chance because it can't get worse. (10-16-2018, 09:57 AM)FBT Wrote:(10-15-2018, 03:23 PM)Inziladun Wrote: To be fair, you don't just swap QBs mid season all willy nilly. Once Bortles sits, you have to be ready to commit to that decision. There's a possibility that Kessler is a lot better than Bortles at this point, and the coaching staff isn't ready to shake up the whole team. I'm not saying it's likely, but to say he's not starting is evidence that he's a worse option isn't necessarily the best case to make. You were saying? Wrong again as usual. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
