That was definitely not a game to watch for fans of great QB play. 

If it wasn't for Bortles using his legs for a couple critical plays in that one,, that might've been the absolute worst display of QB play in any game I've ever seen.

That was definitely not a game to watch for fans of great QB play.

Kessler has shown the ability to make quick, decisive throws.  BB5 has not shown this critical QB skill.  Hackett could have been calling 5 yard outs and slants all day, every week for the last 4 games.  
When will JAX ever have a TE who can make a play?  
Where is that LB from Wisconsin, they don't have a LB who can fill a hole.?
When your K is the team MVP you are screwed (This resulted in a mod warning).

I will be shocked if the front office/coaches don't use injuries as justification for the under performance across the board.  These guys had the chance to address the QB in multiple drafts and free agencies and we did zip.

I keep harping on the philosophy and now I hear that Marrone is actually saying he has no confidence in the run game after the game plan had been showing it the last few weeks. We lost our identity with the injuries I'm afraid, and there's really no coming back from it this year.

Tyrod Taylor can't even keep a starting job in Cleveland, where they were adamant, that their rookie #1 overall pick was gonna sit for his first year. Taylor was so bad, that plan only lasted the blink of an eye.

I don't know if you saw the game where Mayfield finally took over, but Taylor's performance (or lack thereof) was pretty putrid.

We will have the two quarterbacks we have until the end of the season. 
Unless BB5 makes some kind of "miracle recovery".....that's when I think he'll be gone.
Look for coaching staff changes in season though.

None of us are happy about what's happening, but we are realists. The team gave Bortles a new contract in the off season. We are stuck owing him a ton of money, at least through 2019. His trade value is less than zero. We have an expensive defense that along with Bortles' contract, is pressing us up against the salary cap. The only way out of this mess is to be patient and draft the right QB to lead this team into the future, whether that be in the next draft or the 2020 draft. Until that time, we just need to make the most of a bad situation. Ryan Fitzpatrick is an UFA at the end of the season. Maybe we can sign him to a 1-2 year contract and at least be competitive until we find our long term solution via the 2019 or 2020 draft. We'd still be stuck with Bortles, but he needs to be riding the bench, big contract or not.

It was one of the worst NFL QB performances I have ever witnessed. That's why I can't understand people thinking he is a viable option. He's on the same level as Bortles.

Our fans hate on our QB's in an amazing way, with varying degrees of deservability.    

One thing, do people realize that Bridgewater had an amazing D, Adrian Peterson, Stephon Diggs, Mike Wallace, and Kyle Rudolph and still only managed 14 TDs in a complete year?   

I continue to watch so many teams with weapons that Bortles could only reminisce about, to the days of having Arob.....

I just don't know how this shallow-mindedness continues, what to they expect a QB is going to do with NO running game, NO reliable receivers, ZERO contribution from the TE's, and a back-up-back-up-back-up at LT?


What would Bortles do with say,,,,I don't know, having the weapons they often-mentioned-traded-to-us Eli?  Beckom?  Shepard?  Engram?   

I mean, wow.  Blake is as good as gone, I am sure, but people cannot stop themselves from pounding on a guy who has been nothing but class all the way, despite all of the gutless garbage thrown his way.

That's what we do in Jax, and several other cities, I am sure.   Can't wait to bury the next guy too, I am sure.  Fill-in the blank.   

The thing about it is, we had a plan going into the year, one that was solid and reasonable, but fragile nevertheless.  I am sure most teams do.

We have to adjust everywhere you look, and that is not an excuse, but the actual reason- for LT, regression from WR's, and drops that are killers, TE injuries that are laughable at this point, and a focal point of the O being absent since the 1st half of the 1st half.

Just a fragile plan, that fell apart, because of circumstances.  It is what it is.

Does Blake have the best weapons in the league? No. Does he miss open receivers and rarely throws with anticipation? Yes.
