Bigger threat to Florida than a Category 5 Hurricane

I realize that Texas is a super conservative state, but how could anyone vote for a spineless worm like Cruz? Trump called him everything but a white man during the campaign. He insulted his entire family, implicated his father in the Kennedy assassination and generally made him look like a complete joke, yet Cruz still kisses the president's butt like a coward. It's sickening. Policies aside, as a man, I have no respect for that guy what so ever. He's such a brown-nosing weasel with no pride or self respect what so ever. It's like he enjoys being a doormat. I could never vote for a guy like that, Republican, Democrat or Independent. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! The recount should confirm that we kept another swamp leftist out of the Senate. I was actually pretty concerned with this election thinking that the "me too" and "give me more free stuff" crowd might have pulled it off. Ironically no one mentioned that the same electorate that rejected Gillum passed this amendment. And they never seem to mention that Stand your ground is used most often by African Americans in defense of family members.

Gillum's campaign conceded and they won't be recanting it anytime soon. The recount, if it happens at all, will be a procedural matter. Nelson is whining about the way votes in Miami and the surrounding areas were counted, and he wants a hand recount because the margin is currently within 0.25%. I mean, technically, that's how the law is written in Florida, so his request is not unreasonable. But, I mean, he did lose.

Seeing as the guy is like 110 years old and has always been an empty suit, him losing to one of the greatest governors our state has seen in a long time is probably not a bad thing. So, 2 days after election, Broward county is "slow dripping" additional votes? Man, this sounds extremely shady from a historically corrupt voting county. I'm in the camp of if you can't follow directions when filling out a ballot, you probably shouldn't be voting anyway. Then again, I kind of hope this gains some traction. It's already got traction, per state law. Six different races are within half a percent with absentee ballots yet to be counted. Only Bill Nelson has actually put out a statement calling for a recount directly. Gillum has put out a half-hearted statement about every vote counting, but isn't making a big deal of it and doesn't expect the result to change per the news over here. He's hired the attorney that represented George W. Bush in 2000, though, so maybe he's expecting things to get closer? No one else, as far as I can tell, has made an noise or fuss to this point. As of right now, no one's demanding anything that state law doesn't grant them anyway, which raises the painfully obvious questions about why Nelson is demanding a hand recount in Miami, Palm Beach and Broward when state law grants him a hand recount statewide anyway at this point. Either he's counting on finding 75,000 or so votes from people who tried to punch a hole in their ballot instead of filling in the circle, or he's hoping that a hand recount is a bit more...ahem..."favorable" for him than a machine count in those areas would be. As long as the candidates get what they're legally entitled to in terms of a recount, I don't much care beyond that. If things get thrown into the courts for a month again, I'm going to be all in favor of just taking away the right of all Florida residents to vote, because we clearly don't understand the simple concept of "fill in the damn circle". Palm Beach and Browsed mysteriously found..... 93k votes.... And won't let election advisors monitor the process. WEEKS!!!
Our democracy is crumbling before our very eyes.
How is Brenda Snipes not already in prison? Maybe I am overestimating the simple way of fixing this, but how about putting the voters SSN on the ballot? Process fixed! ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
We slide the ballots into scan tron machines. That should be pretty immediate

SSN verified against SSN Administration to check if: a. This person is alive b. This person has already voted c. This is a VALID SSN number 3. Process over.
1. Eliminate early voting.
2. Mandatory valid photo identification with proof of residency in the district. Mandatory current voters registration card with matching address. 3. High resolution video systems at all polling locations to include ballot imaging while being filled in by voter. 4. Officers at each polling location.
