Marrone is not a bad HC. His major flaw is his unwillingness, or inability, to instill discipline in the team. At times it seems he has no control over locker room and on field gaffs. Assigning captainship to a second year knucklehead (Fournette) sends entirely the wrong message.

While I do think Marrone needs to do a better job instilling discipline (especially in terms of dumb penalties) the captains are elected by the team, not the coaches.  If he vetoes their vote, he loses the locker room immediately.

Which is further proof of how undisciplined the team is.

I wouldn't be terribly upset if they cleaned house but that doesn't necessarily mean it's an inherently better process. 

We cleaned house in 2013 (even swept the corners) and had a 4-year run of historic ineptitude.

Don't hire the guy who says we need to do a total tear down this time. We are in position to do a quick rebuild if we get a quality staff and QB.

His lack of character goes back to the Buffalo sitiation. The onfield product clearly shows he has lost control of the team and they aren't playing hard for him anymore. Keeping him around would be throwing in the towel for 2019.

I believe a shake up on the defense with letting some of the players go that were going to be released next season anyway will do wonders for our defense on the team.

And Ramsey might actually grow up in the offseason.

If watching today’s games tells you anything, it says that the Jags are in desperate need of a wide receiver. There ain’t a jag receiver with the exception of Westbrook that can make the plays that I have seen today.

You know we actually have been spitting in the wind most of our time as a franchise. We had a disaster transition from the original team success through Del Rio. Just when we built a little bit of momentum with Del Rio we had it all melt down. (Chopping wood.... ugh)

From a player perspective, we have had some great running backs but where are the wide receivers after the first franchise guys? All I know is we were hella of spoiled in 1996 through 1999. I wish that had been built better.

useing the injurys as an excause to not fire a HC is what losers would say. the eagles won the super bowl last season with a lot of injurys includeing thier qb. They have injurys this year as well,and are still in the playoff race. they have  a real HC. I don't think Marrone's quit. There's no $4M golden parachute waiting for him if he walks away this time. I do think the locker room is lost to him. If his message still carried any weight, Fournette would know better than to threaten a fan, and Marrone would bury his [BLEEP] for being dumb enough to do that instead of falling back on, "He said a dirty word to me, so even though I'm a professional and should be above such things, I'm going to threaten him in retaliation. Right after my suspension for beating Shaq Lawson's [BLEEP] runs out."

Point being, Fournette is exhibit A that Marrone has no control over the locker room, and whatever that was on Thursday is strong evidence that the team just doesn't care.

Marrone will be back next season and so will Walsh.

If that's the case, I will not. This team is too good to waste another year under a staff that can't control it.
