And I would have happily seen us beating the titans last night while also acknowleding a loss gets us closer to our QB. So you can keep your misplaced snark. I know plenty of people who go to all the games and are agree that losing helps us get our QB more than winning , you just like to die on nonsensical hills because you don't know what you don't know

Dont get your panties in a wad man.  Is pick number 1 better than pick number 5? Yes, but as long as you hit on your pick it really dont matter.  Thats all there is to it.  If every team that was out of the playoffs tanked it would pretty much ruin the sport.  I seriously doubt the great franchises tanked to get where they are, they just nailed the majority of there picks and have had good coaches.

You know things are bad when you try to use an FBT line

Yeah thats all anybody has been saying. That the more you lose from here on out the better chance we have of getting the QB you want. Theres no magic involved.

Again, it's a given that if you hit on your pick it doesn't matter. That kind of clichéd line doesn't mean anything.

No team hits on the majority of its picks but the best teams in the league did all land high quality QBs, in many different ways but still. It stands to reason our best shot at becoming one of those teams is landing the best QB possible...and the most likely way of doing that is getting first dips on the QB

No one is saying the teams tank man. The players play as hard as they can. They want to keep their jobs and keep feeding their family. The coaches coach as hard as they can, for the same reasons.

But as fans, we can realize it's probably better for the franchise if we don't win a couple meaningless games at the end of a lost season.

Watching some of the Skins Giants game and unless we’re going to sit some guys next week, I’ll be pretty surprised if we lose.

Yeah, I think that will be Kessler break out game. All depends on the oline, only if they can be average but Wash has a really good dline

I don't understand why that is such a difficult concept.

I’m not advocating for tanking but it’s good to either be really bad or really good. Stuck in 7-9 8-8 purgatory is the worst. Ask the current Detroit Lions.
But the Lions have had top picks lol, multiple number 1 and top 5 picks.  Sure helped them didnt it lol.  You are hurting your case on that comment lol.  Their QB went first overall.  They haven't had good drafts.  It had nothing to do with where they picked they just missed on their picks more often than not

The Lions recently made the playoffs.

Do they make the playoffs without Stafford?

Where in the draft was Stafford taken?

The Lions botching their draft position does not, as a general proposition, negate the inherent advantage superior draft position provides.

They just did not capitalize on that position.

True, but we will find a way to give the win away to the redskins.

Yeah..I didn't think we'd win again this season.  We may well beat the Skins.

The good news is based upon what I've seen, as it stands now, we're still in really good shape for a QB.

If there is a Luck, Elway, Manning at the top of the draft I could see wanting to lose. There are quite a few good QBs at the top imo so I'm gonna hope for a win and a good GM. Hopefully Dave is gone and then we will be good. Tom will get his last shot

This is me.
I get why people think the other way. But I'd rather root for the win, and be okay with the loss because draft position improves.
But I like winning, even meaningless games. It's a lot more enjoyable than whatever that [BLEEP] show was Thursday night.

I just look at it as not enjoying the game but at least having something positive come from the loss. When we were good last year there were no positives from a loss. I still root for them to win the game, but when its obvious they're gonna lose I'm not totally bummed

Jags strength of schedule is really screwing them when it comes to the draft order. As of now the only team they'd be ahead of (in a tied record) is the Raiders.

Looking at the remaining schedules, I think the Jags will pick between 6-11 in the first round.
Taking it to the top of the Modis building.

Who do we really think will take a 1st rd QB?

For sure:
Us
Giants

Probably:
Broncos

Maybe:
Raiders
Dolphins
Bengals

Seems like a good year to need a QB given how few other teams really need one. I'd only be worried about the Giants or Broncos trading up and I think the Giants are probably gonna be okay with the 2nd guy off the board. I can see Elway wanting to make a big move though. The fact htere's no real clear #1 helps us I think

bucs
bolts
redskins

any of these ^ could decide to prepare for the future - and if they like one of the top 3 QBs they could be competition

I think there is a better than 50-50 chance Washington takes a QB. Smith was an older veteran coming into the season and he basically suffered the same kind of break as the one that ended Joe Theismann's career. At best, he won't be ready for the 2019 season and at worst, his career is over. Either way, Washington needs to find a QB. If I had to give odds on who takes a QB in round 1, I'd say Jags 99%, Giants 85%, Washington 60%, Denver 50%, Dolphins 35%, Chargers 35%, Bucs 30%, Oakland 30%, Pats 25%, Saints 15%, Bengals 1%.

I would say teams who definitely will take a QB are :

Jags
Giants
Broncos
Redskins

Elway seems especially enamoured with Drew Lock which would be very on brand for him.

Atlanta should. They won't be this high in the draft again until it's rebuild time probably.

Grab a QB. Matt Ryan ain't getting no younger. You get the 5th year option. Options.

They won't... but they should.
