Correctly evaluating Kessler

#61

I felt comfortable with him as back-up before he made these starts, but now.... not so much. He's absolutely horrible.

People who are sick of Blake or just flat out don't like him should be wary of going too far and hitching their wagon to Kessler.

I realize the offensive line stinks, but this game against the Skins did not give me much optimism that he has a bunch of those intangible skills that will allow him to make up for his obvious lack of tangible traits.

The guy got outplayed by a 4tb string quarterback who has about 20 pass attempts In the past five years.

Exactly! I'd be stunned if Kessler was on the team next season.

Kessler is beyond bad. Hate on Blake all you want but he is much better than Kessler

'skins were coming at the guy from every angle through our O line....
doubt there are many that would survive that.
BB5 with his slow release would probably be eating more grass than kessler

They both sucks. Bortles may be better but he is still a turd. No need to risk bortles getting hurt and risk owing him more money. Let kessler finish the season and find the real answer in the offseasons.

I was willing to give Kessler a chance but he has 0 awareness. He missed too many open throws today as well.

Umm, no, it is worse. Norwell was still in there Blake’s last game.

Today it was ridiculously bad. Kessler is not a good fit for this team, even as back up.

Yeah the O-line made him throw a pass to the back of one of his O-linemen head right? That's just one of hundreds of head scratching throws. Please! Bortles, how its been said over 100000000000000 times on here, had his chance. Five years to get better, get good, become at least average. He failed. Understand that please. Stop talking about Bortles already, and put a fork in him, it's mute, he is gone!

Here's a simple evaluation: Kessler has played 14 quarters of football this year and has scored two touchdowns.

he had more running yards than passing yards and was sacked 6 times. at least would have gotten more yards running and was very tough, even behind an awful offensive line. I believe he is not a good passer and definitely not a long-term answer, but neither one of them are worth money, both garbage QB. I'd almost see if we can get the QB from Washington that played today, if he's available. He made some great throws, at least he can throw beyond 30 yards and have it get close to the receiver.

It's hard to believe that this Offense actually got worse when they benched Bortles lol...

Good Job Kessler, nothing like getting out played by a QB who hasn't played in 8 years lololololol.

20 net Passing yards for our Jags today... A Franchise record low... Again, nice job Kessler lololol.

I confess that I was on board with the idea that Kessler's quick release and ability to throw a semi-accurate spiral would make him an upgrade over BB5.

Well, it didn't, it hasn't, and it won't.

We have no QB on this team. Then again we have no WRs, TEs or OL.  Culmination of 5 years without developing an offense.  They could only do so much in the off season I guess getting the best guard was it.
