Team sport. Team effort. It's been cited quite a few times around here but there's absolutely enough blame to go around from top down. Starts in the front office. The players we have here, both, good and bad. That's all on this scouting staff, coaching staff, the general manager and the owner.
Scouts scout. Players play. Coaches coach. You have to find a way to properly balance all of that out and have enough foresight to see trends around the NFL and where you'll need to improve on a daily basis. I say it here and there. But I truly appreciate the season ticket holders in this city man. We'd be [BLEEP] without the loyalty they've instilled over the years. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Leave the defense out of this, remember last year, they came out, did their job, and got the ball back where the offense drove down the field and got at least one first down, think of it this way, typically a play runs about 40 secs, in a normal game setting, like the first drive, much faster if the end of a game and a team is in the hurry-up offense. Now 4/5 times in the Steelers game our offense didn't get a single first down, 3 and out. so roughly 40 secs per play, 2:00 minutes and its 4th down, punt and commercials (official Timeout) 2:00 minutes, so for 5 straight drives the defense was asked to stop a high powered offense, not to mention it got faster on the last few drives as they were in a hurry-up mode, players with hands on hips trying to catch their breath only to have to go back out 4 minutes later and do it all again. so yeah leave the Defense out of it. The defense is fine IMO, sure there are a few issues but being on the field time and time again does not help. I've seen enough of Blake under those circumstances that I would rather take my chances with a Haskins or Grier in that situation. Going by the link provided by Cleatwood I give him 6. The 5th one against Tenn was a defensive score via turnover on a short field . Still I am impressed he has had that many. His failures are what I remember

At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening.
You know what I see when I watch Derrick Henry? Barry Sanders, all thanks to our defense

But they underachieved in 2018. They played badly during significant portions of about 5 games at times when offensive three and outs were not an issue. Lots of individual screw ups from players that should be better than the performances they turned in. Busted coverages, bad run fits from backers, DTs manhandled in run defense, and bad angles from safeties all reared their head more so than in 2017. I'm not going to just ignore that stuff. I think they can play better without major changes, but they'll need a fire lit under their rear-ends prior to the 2019 campaign IMO. We show less advertisements to registered users. There needs to be a post count requirement for starting threads. Smh.

The AFC has been dominated by Peyton and Brady the last 15 years or so. In the last 15 years in the AFC, the only QB outside of Manning, Brady or Ben that has made a SB is Flacco. That has nothing to do with the other QB's in the AFC and everything to do with how dominate those guys are. No one said finding a franchise QB is easy but it's pretty clear Blake isn't even close to being one. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Let it go, Blake is gone next season.....Jesus Christ beating a dead horse....

I think this QB class is weak next year it will be better. but Finding a Franchise QB who can get you to the playoffs and beyond is not easy. I honestly dont think any of the QB avaialbe this year will be that franchise guy. What are you even talking about? Kap, Cam, Foles and Wilson don't play in the AFC. Clearly i messed up and ment a confrence championship game. and if someone had any understanding of actual content might have figured that out. I think you are confusing Franchise QB with Elite QB they are 2 different things. Your main complaint is that BB is not consistent. After watching this NFL season i have not see one QB that has the consistency you are speaking of they all have good and bad games even the elites. So i guess they all suck and need to be replaced. |
