Jags Fans,

I feel for you because your owner completely screwed up by keeping the triad of Coughlin, Caldwell, and Marrone in place.

As a Bills fans, we used to have an old, clueless owner in Ralph Wilson.  There were multiple times when everyone can see a change is needed, yet Wilson preached a phrase that all Bills fans roll their eyes at - “continuity.”  As a result, he kept coaches/GM’s in place when he should have turned the page.  Predictibly, the next season the team sucks.  You see, continuity or stability only matters if you have good people in place.  We’ve seen many examples of coaches who were kept in the name of stability that were fired yesterday (Bowles, Hue Jackson, Dirk Koetter, etc).  It doesn’t work unless you have the right people, and I’m fairly certain Marrone is not the right perso .



Sorry but I see this happening for Jacksonville next season.  Marrone did a terrible job in 2018.  Yes there were injuries but there always are.  There’s no excuse for the poor performance this year.  Plus the team’s culture seems to be in disarray with the team’s marquee players (Ramsey and Fournette) having some serious issues.  

Caldwell has also missed on a lot of picks, including the biggest whiff in Bortles, that he doubled down on. There is no way he should still be on the team.

Add a bad salary cap situation where several key pieces will need to be released, and I think you have a recipe for another bad 5 or 6 win season. 

My prediction is that the Jags will need to rebuild their roster in 2020.  I just feel bad that you’ll have to sit through another disappointing year until Khan will actually address changes.

Why don’t you focus on fixing your QB position instead? Josh Allen is going to set the Bills back at least 4 years. Welcome to our world.

We don't need a 4 year rebuild. It will be a 2 year rebuild. OL, WR, TE can make impacts immediately and are supposed to. The right QB, Tua, needs 2 years to come into his own. Our defense will still be young by that time.

How about he tries to learn a lil bit and applies some logic and common sense? Caldwell has been awful and deserves to go. Coughlin has 2 seasons and no one can tell for sure what are his decisions but if he has major blame (Bortles extension, LF, Norwell etc) then fire him too.

It is obvious the people who give him advice suck too, so... Either way all this is Khan's fault too.

Your common sense and logic is not his. you may have years of observing and reading the dealings of the NFL. He doesn't have that. He wanted a NFL team, so he bought a NFL team.

Everyone is blaming Caldwell but for the last 2 years, TC has had to sign off on any transactions. Now, he can make a point of his 1st rounders, I get it. But his other moves have set the foundations for a good defense. I know its the fan's prerogative to exemplify the negative, but DC has had some positive as well.

You trying to fire everybody sets us up for another rebuild. Is that what you really want? 4 more years of losing?

It depends, I haven't said we should fire Marrone yet, I am willing to give him one more year. I dunno enough about Coughlin's role on these garbage decisions but I'd still be willing to let him stay at least one more year.

Caldwell is another story. He is been terrible, his coach was one of the worst of all time and he extended a below average QB to a big extension, he has to go. He deserves no merit on Ramsey or Jack, everyone knew how talented they were, and like 90% of all his other picks haven been awful.

A lot of GMs gave been good on their first year with their new teams, same with HCs, you are talking like that it is impossible to be successful with new people on the fist year. Sean McVay? John Dorsey?

Depends on what you mean by good?  We were competitive this year despite not having an offense.  If playoffs and contender is good then yeah I think we are in 8-8 territory.

So ive given it a day, this decision still isn't sitting too well with me. I get the logic and even the best teams have down seasons (well not the Pats) but for this team to finish 5-11 after starting 3-1, i don't know if everyone can get a pass for this season.

Here's my worry. Ok, we are giving the staff the benefit of the doubt for last season and injuries. I don't like injuries being this get out of jail free card that buys coaches extra seasons. Next season we may have a rookie QB. So if we go 6-10 then it's because we had the rookie but 2020 is when we will be ready. I want a true culture change, this season we have been arguing and fighting with ourselves and letting other teams have an easy game. I would have rather seen some of the words and actions from the past 24 hours maybe after the Cowboys game when we still had a season to save. The nightclub incident in London still has me angry. That shows to me to difference between year 1 and year 2. This team has started to believe its own hype and that's a dangerous road.

A lot of teams made coaching moves today which will make finding an OC who may try something different harder. I thin we'll have an inside hire sadly. 

After last season, we thought we were close but now we just need to fix the O. I've been following this team for 18 years, we've only been 'X' away from being a contender so many damn times.
