Freddy T used to do the same dang thing. No biggie about the voluntary stuff if they have a different coach they enjoy working with, and are putting in the effort. Jalen's problem has never been his ability, or even his concept of team. If that were the case, he'd have phoned in the back half of this season or found some way to get put on IR to avoid any long-term injury.

Yeah, that was damning. I'm sure they're working the possibility of a trade as we speak and I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't make it to training camp either way.

I guess Trent Richardson really was a bad comparison, we've never seen anything about Richardson being a cancer like the above seems to indicate for threenette.

It's not about working for free. It's about setting the example for the team. As the best player or one of the best on the team, your decisions set the tone for everyone below you. If I was in Ramsey's shoes, I'd show up this year. Maybe see if they'd let his dad come down for some of the time. But if he wants this team to be his, he's gotta show everyone who will be there that the big boys will do it too. We lost a lot of that "team" from last year, this year. It's not about working for free. It's about setting the example for the team. As the best player or one of the best on the team, your decisions set the tone for everyone below you. If I was in Ramsey's shoes, I'd show up this year. Maybe see if they'd let his dad come down for some of the time. But if he wants this team to be his, he's gotta show everyone who will be there that the big boys will do it too. We lost a lot of that "team" from last year, this year. More than that, he needs to tell all the magazine editors he's busy prepping for the season before sitting down to trash the majority of his opponents' starting QBs. Talk all the smack you want about the other teams' terrible players in the locker room after practice, but keep it out of print.  Let the game do the talking for you. That so-called swagger is a big reason why everyone thought of themselves first and team second.

Fred worked his butt off during the off-season, and when he did show, he was ready to go, no gradual easing into things, getting into football shape, etc. If that works for Jalen, great. Jalen's job is not to teach the new kids how to study film, work on footwork, eat right, etc. If he is there for every voluntary practice, that's awesome, but I don't think that will contribute to any win, loss, or team identity over the course of the season.

Absolutely. It says a lot that there are a bunch of short runs that don't even get first Downs in his highlights.

IDT anyone ever said LF27 was as good as MJD was. Further, MJD had: Brad Meester, Vince Manuwai, Uche Nwaneri etc. to run behind. LF27 ran behind .. Ereck Flowers, Omameh, and journeymen linemen. In the one game he had with all our starters before his hamstring pull he was averaging 4.55 ypc. but that gets ignored.

Zeke has always been the superior talent, it's also helpful that he runs behind the best oline in football for the majority of his career. Gurley had a worse sophomore year than Fournette did on a per touch basis. Rams fans are real glad they didn't chase him out of town. Also of note, Saquon Barkley for all his explosive runs gets tackled at the line for a minimal gain or loss of yards as much if not more than Fournette.

But they did mention later on about the rumor they heard about him leaving the jets game with a injury and was showered and left stadium before halftime.

I don't know. Just because there are a couple of malcontents does not automatically equate to Marrone having no control. I read they have fined him multiple times, Marrone suspended him last year. There probably is not much else that can be done except what the team is doing now.
