College QBs 2018 Season/2019 Draft

Haskins is starting to get a bit overrated on this board because of the desperation at QB. He isnt Teddy overrated but we havent even gotten to the combine yet. I hope it doesnt get to that point

I’m not saying he’s the greatest QB ever but it’s clear he’s the best one this year.

Again... I’d put him 3rd after Baker and Darnold in the past 2 drafts.

I would. IMO, it's crystal clear that Haskins the top QB in 2019. I'm not impressed by anyone else. Haskins is certainly the only one I would select in round 1.

Now are we seeing more of people saying Grier is Rd3/Day3 material? It's crazy isnt it?

Would be awesome if we are able to get Foles and get Grier day 3.  That would be a best case scenario

I mean it’s clear to me and others but it may not be for you.

I’m not sure you’re going to find more than 1 mock draft where a QB goes before Haskins.

I think Grier will go day 2, probably round 2. He has been massively overrated by a number of people on here, but he kind of fits the Andy Dalton early/mid Round 2 type of guy to me. Shouldn't be a bust, but probably isn't carrying a team to many wins either. You'll be stuck in the middle for a long time like the Bengals have been. Don't want that. Give me a clear stud or give me a clear bust and let me try again quickly.

I was told a bust would set us back a decade tho

Lol that’s a clickbait one if I’ve ever seen one.

I mean I’m sure you’re gonna find some because these mocks just need the clicks. Bosa going 3rd overall? Murray and Jones ahead of Haskins? Yikes.

Absolutely. 2 teams passing on Haskins for other QBs and he falls right in the Jags lap.

Sounds great.

But as I've said before... I hear this every year it seems "next years QB crop is better" or "gotta get one now, next years crop is slim"
Truth is, they don't know. They are guessing.

I'd say I've heard resounding choruses of that in all but three of the last 9 drafts.

Almost every year - "there are no good QBs" and most of those drafts still tend to produce one or two quality starters.

That's kind of the point.

They should produce more than only one or two if the class is to be considered good.

That, and the one or two that do emerge should be from the top of the list (if that list is indeed a good one.)

I love it when guys like Mahommes and Wilson beat the odds and prove a lot of folks wrong.

But when you get classes like 2015... yikes.

Even last year... the most successful weren't the ones the so-called or self-proclaimed experts had expected to be the best of class (Darnold, Rosen, Allen.) They ended up being the wildcards Mayfield and Jackson who most felt to be less safe.

Truth is, no one knows. But what is true... is that if you do have a bonafide franchise QB prospect, they should rise to be selected in the top 3 at least. If not, that indicates there are valid questions about the QB class (not just the top prospect.)

This year the best QB in class may come off the board closer to 10 than 1.

If the top QB doesn't go 1, that's not a strong top of class, and also not likely a strong class overall. Like last year, I think the most successful isn't going to be the first QB that comes to mind.

1) Mayfield was drafted first overall.  How in the world is that a wild card?

2) Jackson's team did better, yes.  But are you really going to tell me he had a better year--or looks to have a better future-- than Darnold?

It doesn't really matter if the class is good, just if the guy the Jags select is good. Who cares if all the other guys flop.

Now, are the correct people/scouts/etc. in place to judge the players in the 2019 and possibly in 2020 class? That is the question.
