Caution: this represents a nightmare scenario for most Jaguars fans wanting a QB...
https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/dr...-2019-mock Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Signing Foles and getting Metcalf in the 1st is the best possible scenario imo (02-06-2019, 10:35 PM)flgatorsandjags Wrote:(02-06-2019, 09:34 PM)Bullseye Wrote: Caution: this represents a nightmare scenario for most Jaguars fans wanting a QB... I don't presume a Foles acquisition and from what I see, that mock didn't either. My initial reaction was as if both trades were executed and the Jaguars missed out on a signal caller, other than a mediocre vet. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

You're right, Bullseye, what a nightmare.
In that spot, give me a big ugly on the OL or give me Washington's trade offer.
Metcalf is my favorite non QB option, so if we do screw up and acquire Foles then I'm for this.
I saw Hockenstein mocked to us at 7 recently too. If he tests at an elite level I would be just fine with that too. I'd be sad to miss out on another insanely dynamic Kittlesque all around beast of a TE.
IDK.....
In this scenario I assume we go Grier in Rd 2. If round 3 featured a TE and OG/RT I really ain't mad at it. (02-07-2019, 10:04 AM)Mikey Wrote: You're right, Bullseye, what a nightmare. If we go OL there I'd take Risner honestly. I think he's that good at RG or RT and can play C if Linder is hurt (again) (02-07-2019, 10:58 AM)Upper Wrote: Metcalf is my favorite non QB option, so if we do screw up and acquire Foles then I'm for this. In this mock, I'd be all for the Jaguars trading back to get more picks (Redskins?). There really aren't any great choices. Metcalf, without his medical history, would be a great pick. The Jaguars just can't afford to risk this when you look at what happened to Fournette. If they are able to trade back, they can still take one of the many receivers available in rounds 2 or 3. Regarding Hockenson, his combination of receiving and blocking skills is just what Coughlin wants. I still think 7 is too high for him, especially when Irv Smith may be available in round 2. All of this speculation is entertaining, but we'll really know nothing until the free agency and trading period starts. If the Jags take Foles, there's no way they go for a quarterback in round 1, even if Haskins is available. Not saying I'd pass on him, but the Foles trade signals the brass has a "win now" mentality and will draft players who can immediately help the team get back to the playoffs. If they do sign Foles, I'd expect them to draft a quarterback in rounds 3 or 4. Ryan Finley or Will Grier would be guys to consider as their draft stocks have fallen, but both have enough positive traits to possibly succeed at the next level.
