Kyler Murray
|
with how wishy washy this kid has been about his future, I would assume he has talked to A's and they are allowing him to do this without forcing him to pay back his bonus for cutting his spring work out short. The A's would be smart in doing so if they are anticipating him getting either disappointed or having a wake up call when he gets a taste of the NFL. After seeing how this kid responds to certain things I would say that is a smart move on the A's part if that is indeed the case. If he does make it as far as an NFL locker room, I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to bottle up and runs back to baseball.

If he was actually committed, he would be sure that teams knew he was committed. He wouldn't be this vague.

Sorry guys. Still not sold. Jacksonville has more holes than just QB, and if they can't get Haskins, and they don't think some of the other fellas are worth taking in the top 10 - or reaching, if you want to call it that - then I think you look at some of the other holes other than QB and draft somebody in the 2nd.
Maybe i'm just being stupid, but this kid has red flags all over him. I don't care of flashy he is; he played for the Sooners in a conference where only Oklahoma State can somewhat rival their talent level. A conference that is not known for having imposing or terrific defenses. The NFL has some [BLEEP] defenses, no doubt, but even those defenses have grown men who can still run a lot faster and hit a ton harder than any college defensive players can. I just don't know why anyone would want to gamble their careers on a kid like this. BUT with that said, I have no idea what Caldwell's planning, and i'm not certain I wanna know. I already don't trust him to make another pick for a QB after messing it up with Bortles (Though being coached by Bradley did Bortles no favors whatsoever). I'm worried he'll make this pick. And I think it's just too much of a risk to take. (02-07-2019, 09:28 PM)Nikowho Wrote: Sorry guys. Still not sold. Interesting comment from Sexton on jaguars.com QB article that mentions (possibly deliberately) that TC worked with Doug Flutie at Boston College and Marrone worked with Brees in NO. I think Sexton may be hinting that the decision makers might not be quite so anti-short-QB as many of us assume.

College is a lot different than the NFL, so that would discount the Flutie thing and Brees is close to 3 inches taller than Murray. Brees is 6' 1/8". I didn't read anything at all into it.
Murrays gameplan should have been commit fully to the NFL, become a first round pick and THEN decide which you want to play. The teams already made the investment in you so they can't do anything about it

But the inclusion of Flutie in there seems strange unless he is trying to make some kind of a point about small QBs. Means very little either way I guess.
He is paid by the jags to do media. Its draft season. Hype up soemone you dont want so that another team thinks you might want him so the guy you really want falls to you duhhhh.

Only because Dan was trying to reel him in on his decision of the NFL or MLB. I'll try to post the video on here later for you all if you are interested.I'm soooo lost. What was the interview suppose to be about. I get that everyone doesnt like him not lying and buttering them up like a drunk girl in a club. He sounds like he is undecided but exploring his options. If he wasnt 1st round worthy, then he wouldnt be even worth the hassle and interview space anyway. I've been said we werent a QB away from fixed. I also said BB5 needed a better oline, a true number 1, better gameplan/OC, and a receiving TE threat but apparently Caldwell disagreed last offseason. I'm just dumbfounded at this team rn. I'll always love em but we like staying stuck on stupid, like we listen to the media instead of our own in house employees/scouts etc.

Would you take a 2 inch shorter Brees or Wilson/Mayfield?? My point is who cares what his height is? Why does it matter? Can he throw? Can he spin it? Can he break a defenses back with runs when everybody is covered? Can he make a bad oline look good? Can he run a shotgun offense? These are questions I think about. I don’t care what a mans heighth is, can he get the job done? (02-09-2019, 11:37 PM)JagFanatic24 Wrote:(12-29-2018, 09:28 PM)TheO-LineMatters Wrote: Too short. Way too short. I think he's very much worth consideration, especially with this QB class. He seems to be very favorable to run a more innovative, modern offense.

Talking about the guy's height is only half the problem. Wilson is 215 lbs at 5'11". He's a thick 5'11". Brees is listed at 210 lbs. at 6'0". He's not as thick as Wilson, but he's thick enough to take a hit.
I'm guessing Murray weighs in under 190 lbs at the combine. Under 185 wouldn't shock me. He's very slight, and looks like he might be fudging it when reporting as 5'9". If he plays in the NFL at all he looks like that kind of guy that will run around and make some spectacular plays outside the pocket until the first time he gets hit, then he'll be done, and the run-around guys will get hit. That coupled with his bizarre behavior regarding committing to playing football would make him a late round prospect to me. It's high time for the Jags to stop flushing picks on "maybe" guys.

Looking more and more like football. I’ll go on record again to say I think he’s gonna be great. |
