You haven't been paying attention then. Trump hears statistics and if they don't match up with what he wants to hear, he throws them out and makes up his own version of what the "truth" is. He's always done this, even before he was president.

The same is true of "reporters." Trusting "reporters" to have the right statistics is no more logical than trusting Trump (or any politician).

And yes, there is really no way to count the number of illegal border crossings who don't get caught. Funny how someone can magically come up with a statistic that X% of illegals came through visa overstays, isn't it?

I'm not saying all reporters should be trusted. That would be crazy, but Trump doesn't even try to tell believable lies. His lies are so far-fetched that they are laughable to reasonable people, who are unaffected by his ridiculous bravado.

Reporters sometimes lose their job for reporting things inaccurately.

Politicians never do. Politicians only lose their jobs if they stop telling us what we already want to hear.

There are exceptions to every rule, but in general you should trust reporters more.

Give us one example of a reporter being fired for reporting inaccurate statistics.

You guys that are supporting Trump are going to be up-in-arms when Dems use this regarding climate change. It won't matter if it's not an apples to apples comparison. The bar is already being set.

Two recent examples would be Brian Ross on ABC and these guys: https://money.cnn.com/2017/06/26/media/c...index.html

Pelosi warns that a Dem President could declare a National Emergency because of gun violence. In my opinion, this is an apples and oranges comparison to the current situation. Even so, what action is she proposing take place if a National Emergency were declared for such a reason? That has the potential to be one of the largest misteps in history if I’m being honest. Say you?

I say the left always cries foul when the other team follows the very precedent they themselves set.  It's great when their team does it, but off limits for the other.

At some point, the people should come together to say "no more" at some point.

But the truth is, those who say "no more" today will turn a quick 180 when their side does it tomorrow.

That's what she's advocating.

So this is where we are.

The Dems will do that anyway if they regain the presidency, whether or not Trump declares a national emergency for the flood of illegals crossing our southern border.

The difference is that the populace will rise up against such an overreach when it directly impacts people's pockets, like they did in France.

The wall will be 5 billion dollars strong before they even start dipping into money that lawsuits can be brought against.

I agree with you.

However, the bar was set BEFORE he used it.  It's precisely why he did.

The left opens all these pandora's boxes, then pretend the other side has to abide by the old rules while they keep steamrolling over them.

I don't think the left realizes that the previous president and his supporters are EXACTLY why we have the president and his supporters today.

Civil war has already started without a single shot fired, so to speak.

I agree. You have to wonder what the braking point is. I’m not sure the newer generation has the desire or fortitude to protect the populace from government power grabs when the whole suffers, not just one segment.

That's where we are... career politicians who are generating unsustainable government spending and debt, who retire rich without having to suffer the consequences of their failure to responsibly represent the people.

BOTH Democrats and Republicans.

+1

If I could add more I would.  THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE REAL ISSUE IS!  You party loyalist keep looking the other way when it is your party doing the dirty deed.

Yep. The greatest trick they've pulled is convincing the population that the battle of right Vs left is more important than the actual system at play

We generally are no longer a nation of free thinkers and take social media as gospel. Hence, hostile nations being able to push an agenda by massive troll jobs. An example is the big measles outbreak in Europe last year. It was discovered that Russia pushed a HUGE anti-vaccination campaign via social media. The new gullible norm is very dangerous and if any of us have paid attention, you can see it on college campuses, in the new socialist popularity, U.S. anti-vaccination, tax the rich, medical for all, living wage handout, PC culture, etc. The political environment has just become the new front for stupidity where emotion carries more weight than logic. Squeaky wheel is rewarded, while effort is shunned.

If you sincerely believe what you just wrote, but also voted for Trump in the primaries, you are a hypocrite at best.
