Foles, Done deal

It's not being a homer supporting your players and team until they no longer deserve that support. The man has not played one down for the Jaguars and you throw him under the bus!
You can support Foles and at the same time feel like it may not be the right move for the team.
Projecting his future as not finishing in the top 15 as a quarterback is not showing any support for Foles.   I understand a fan may not be on board with the selection and still support the player, but explain to me how he is showing any support for Foles with his comment.

Exactly.  I have to support him because he's here, because I support my team.  It remains to be seen if it is the correct move to me.  Seems like a (hopeful) quick-fix to me with a guy that has a very limited resume.

I think a lot of fans are on the fence with this move.  I know I am, but as a die hard Jaguar fan, I will support him until he shows me a reason not too.

So it's officially official.

You guys can wring your hands all you want. I'm excited about this signing. I feel like a kid on Christmas day who just got a shiny new bike. Foles'ceiling is higher than an QB we've ever had--and that includes Brunell. He knows how to win. He's got a quick release. He's fire in late game comebacks. I don't care what he did with the Rams, because Jeff Fisher is a schmuck.

We've just got to get him some more weapons. I wish there was a way we could get Hockensen and Taylor--the tackle from UF.

Technically, that description fits EVERY viable QB option for Jaguars.

Now that I think about it, any direction we went, there are major risks involved. We went with the best QB in free-agency, and the one with low-miles. I don't think the Jags were willing to go all in with a rookie QB again since we don't have time, and staff, to develop one. This was the best possible move right now.

Every team in the NFL without a franchise QB is on the same boat

Every FA available. Yes.

The issue I have with Foles has nothing to do with his game. I think he will do well here as long as we upgrade the O a little more. My issue is the long term success of the QB position here. Foles is a band aid at the most important position in all of sports. I would like to see them draft someone who can really be the long term answer but that most likely won't happen this year or next.

Risky decision. I give Coughlin the benefit of the doubt. Man I hope we draft TJ Hockenson.
No pain, no gain.

If the Jags are able to get 5-7 years from Foles that is a win...hopefully in that time they can aquire a rookie QB to develop.

7 years from Foles on a 4 year contract?

I would be ecstatic if they can get 3 years out of Foles.

??
It's essentially a 2-year contract with the "4-year contract" being mostly front loaded. The more I dig into available details, this is set up to not only allow the Jags to draft a QB replacement but also give the GM one last hoora! If this doesn't work out, Caldwell is out of chances.

There is some serious Fan PTSD going on here. Or the latest edition of The Bachelor. I'm not sure which.

We're pretty sure we've greatly upgraded the QB position - but we've been burned before. What if he doesn't love us? Should I commit to him? I may get jilted and look like a fool. What to do, what to do.

Fortunately, our opinions, and feelings, don't mean a thing. Where's Chris Harrison?

My wife made me watch the last 4-5 episodes of the Bachelor. I see life as a roller coaster ride now.

Thank god we live in an era of at least two televisions to a household. How did they do it back in the day? Rock paper scissors?
