2020 Democratic Presidential Candidates

(04-03-2019, 10:37 AM)Kane Wrote: So is this thread going to discuss the numerous terrible Democrat POTUS choices or just bicker about which old white dude is creepier the Don, Uncle Joe, or Cryptkeeper Sanders?

Personally, I think the latter offers more substance and entertainment... but we do want to stay on topic I figure.

If the best the Dems can offer is Joe Biden they already have lost imo.

I hate Trump, but he is good for entertainment value. It's funny just to listen to how many outrageous lies he tells. His latest is that windmill noise causes cancer and that his father was German, even though there is proof he was born in the Bronx.

I haven't heard these things because I choose to not dump nonsense into my brain with the world's 24 hr "news" coverage.

I tune in for the important stuff (which is really minimal)

The rest of the DC/Hollywood/Kardashian stuff is for the rest of ya'll I guess.

All that matters out of DC is policies. Who is putting forth what to make a law or change in the law.
Everything else is noise that distracts from the real stuff.

As a right leaning libertarian, let me play Devil's advocate...
why are we JUST NOW learning of creepy Uncle Joe's stuff?

Because he decided to run for POTUS.
It's garbage to me.
It's news to ya'll.

Wait... what?!

Well... to be fair to Trump... he said "they say"

lol

Keep in mind that at this time in 2015, Scott Walker was the leader in the clubhouse to take on Hillary. Lot of time left, but the Dems won't use that time moving more towards the center. They will continue to eat their own, and it will be glorious.

The left's best shot is a guy they shun Howard Schultz and a guy they already screwed over once in Bernie "everything for free" Sanders

A social liberal with a capitalist mindset. And a socialist.

But running as an Independent will prevent Howard from being heard or taken seriously and left out of debates.
And Bernie now has to contend with a crowded field that includes.... favorite(?) Joe Biden....

This crap show is even better than the mess that was the GOP going into Obama's 2nd term.

The interesting thing is that Bernie is still raising a crap ton of money, so they won't be able to easily make him disappear. It is going to be interesting to watch.

Look at you!

You just made a statement without insulting Democrats or the Left. Way to go!

Its just a fact, however, the average donation is $20, so his brainwashed zombies are slipping and will need to get it back up to $27.  However, I really hope he wins.

Wait... what?!

He said it last night on live TV (CSPN). He's so dense he didn't even know it was a televised event. It's been making the rounds. Newscasters were laughing at him.

Can you prove it doesn't? How long did it take to prove asbestos causes cancer? How long will it take to prove having blue tooth against your head all day doesn't cause cancer?

So now noise... from wind... causes cancer?

Dude. You're off the deep end sometimes because you refuse to disagree with Trump.

He'd agree with Trump, no matter what. Trump could say, "Oxygen causes genital warts" and I bet half this political board would believe he was right. At this point, there's nothing to do, but laugh.

The reality is you that are jumping all over Trump for his wind turbine comment not realizing that his comment is not far from the truth. IFLN or infrasonic noise has been linked to causing biomedical complication from sleep deprivation to yes, cancer (lung). There is scholarly paper after paper speaking to this phenomena. However, it is difficult to show strong causation due to the fact that existing wind turbine "farms" are typically not located in populated areas, so sample sizes are fairly small. The most robust study was done in the Netherlands or Ireland I believe. In any case, NASA and the DoD have done several studies on the weaponizing of infrasonic noise. How quick we forget about the recent sonic attacks in China and Cuba using this very thing. So many quick to discredit Trump's comments as stupidity but you are blindfolded by your own idiocy and bias. Perhaps do a little research beyond what your disciples at CNN and VOX tell you to run with. You might be surprised at what you learn.

There was a debunked study decades ago about the effects of infrasonic sounds causing health problems. And besides, there are tons of infrasounds that humans are exposed to every single day including things like fans, waves and even humans own internal body.

So no his comment does not hold water. Also it's hilarious that he loves coal which has been proven time and time again to have adverse health effects but thinks a windmill is cause for concern....

TLDR;

It doesn’t give you cancer. Got it.

For every one debunk there are numerous that show otherwise. The Army says hello to your debunk “report”. FYI, while humans are exposed to noise everyday, it is the particular frequency, distance and exposure that matters.

Lacking reading comprehension, got it. Feel free to discredit what I said. Of course you can just ignore the biomedical consequences like most folks do with cellphones, microwaves, power lines, etc. Nothing has happened to you yet, so must not exist and we can discredit all research and application.

Can you show me an article where it says Windmill noise directly gives people cancer?

Because that’s the point here. Every thing else is speculation.

Without oxygen everyone would die, and there would be no genital warts.

On a more serious note, windmill noise does disturb peoples mental health and sleep. Whether or not that makes a person more likely to develop cancer I have no idea, but it's far from impossible. Windmill noise is an environmental problem even if it doesn't cause cancer.

This is typical Trump, greatly exaggerating the truth to argue his side of a "deal." It's what salesmen do, and Trump is nothing if not a salesman. It's no worse than 90% of the claims about the horrors of global warming, and those are from scientists who should be accurately telling the truth.
