While I agree that that old model of mauling RT with a pass rush weakness is now firmly out of date, I share little of the credence you are placing in shuttle times and such. I place much more emphasis on watching these individuals play right tackle. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! The only exception is if he is really special and Taylor is not. That's old thinking. Left tackle still carries a higher premium, but the days of "find a fat guy and run behind him" at right tackle are over. The league has become pass-heavy and pass rushers are now as likely to come through the strong side as they are to work against the left tackle. I understand Burns is a good player, but that just shouldn't happen, especially for a guy who is suppose to be a top 10 talent. Does "get bodied by" somehow mean "owned" because he owned Burns all game? The only possible criticism I can draw is that maybe he could have held some of his run blocks a little longer and really finished them. While I agree he appears to be more of a top 20 pick than a top 10 pick, I just went through the entire 20 minutes and found no such clips.

Typically we'll keep nine or ten OLs, and the guys we know about are... LT Cam Robinson, Josh Wells LG Andrew Norwell C Brandon Linder, Tyler Shatley RG AJ Cann This leaves three or four spots, and one will hopefully be filled with an OT in the first or second round (I'm thinking 2nd round)... so two or three spots. As the backup RT, we have three contenders... Will Richardson, Cedric Ogbuehi and now Leonard Wester. One or two make the roster. Remaining contenders for the other one or two spots are G KC McDermott and G Brandon Thomas. I imagine they'll have some competition in the form of late round draft picks or rookie UDFAs. As for AJ Cann, there's no need to even contemplate replacing him as the starting RG. His latest contract extension says he's their starting RG this year.

The new OL coach George Warhop was in Tampa Bay with Wester. Wester was the active 3rd tackle, or swing tackle, for Tampa Bay last year on gameday. He did start at RT for 1 game last year due to an injury to the reqular starter, and, per reports, held his own. While active during the season, he played ST and a TE in the jumbo package.

I think they're higher on him than many people believe. It wasn't an extension technically, but just a new deal. I agree it probably means they expect him to start, but the deal makes him easy to cut prior to the 2020 season and VERY easy to cut prior to 2021. It's also only 6 million in guaranteed money. So - I would not rule out a situation that sees Cann's position challenged this year. Most are assuming a tackle will be drafted prior to the 4th round this year to compete with Richardson. The loser of that battle could compete for the RG spot if Warhop/Marrone wish. I hope it plays out that way. Get the best five guys out there, and a $6 mil contract need not matter.

I have a hard time seeing Taylor being a better offensive lineman in the NFL than Jonah Williams will be

I would officially like to welcome Montez Sweat to the Jacksonville Jaguars!
