Meh. Likely just a vet minimum/camp body until Lee is up to speed type deal. He did catch lightning in a bottle with Cleveland that1 year. He may be ok depth on an otherwise young/average wr group.

This is a good move. Could be a huge pick up.

Is he better than the younger promising WRs that we already have?
Are we looking to add an twist to our offense?
WHY?
I personally and privately don't see us signing Pryor but if we do.
What's the reasoning?

Time Will Tell.

There's no harm in giving a guy a work out.

Pryor, when healthy, can ball. He's 6'4 and can probably still clock in close to his early 4.4 speed. If he were to sign a minimum deal, he would be interesting depth. However, he likely is just a guy that can be called in during the season if injuries do occur.

WR Terrelle Pryor expected to sign with Jaguars

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001...th-jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to sign veteran WR Terrelle Pryor, according to NFL Network Ian Rapoport. It will be the sixth team the 29-year-old has played for since getting drafted by the Raiders

I hope this is just a bit of depth and insurance for Lee's knee recovery timetable.

Rather than accounting for a new injury or issue we are unaware of to another receiver.

There's still a small glimmer of upside there with Pryor. Not the worst camp body to have around.

If Pryor makes the 53-Man roster, a young and promising WR will not. Pryor may last a season or two but I'd hate to not have a player that could contribute for several years. He has been on six teams for a reason. The pre-season will tell us just what he has left in the tank.

Time Will Tell.

I don't like this signing at all. As said above he's been on six teams or whatever for a reason. Had one miracle season decent season at wr when he was force fed the ball and his stats per target were still horrible.

Training camp is a 90 man roster. Injuries happen. If he's currently the 6th or 7th best WR on this team, and the price is not expensive, it's a good signing. Because you cannot assume that all 5 of your top WRs are going to make it to the regular season.

Lee's contract situation pretty much locks him on the roster with his $9 mil cap hit since we can't get out of that, so the top 4 WRs are known...
  • Dede Westbrook
  • Chris Conley
  • DJ Chark
  • Marqise Lee
This is in no particular order as they all pretty much rank the same... maybe an edge to Dede here.

So the 5th WR spot is up for grabs. I'm looking at three primary contenders for that 5th spot...

Keelan Cole
Terrelle Pryor
Michael Walker

I'm like the Walker possibility since he's also be a return specialist should he earn a spot.

A few other UDFAs are in the mix (Tyre Brady, Dredrick Snelson and Raphel Leonard), although their more likely to make the Practice Squad should any make the team.

With Lee possibly starting the year on PUP Pryor and Cole stay on it

Oddly I'm currently in the home town of Terrelle Pryor right now, Jeannette, PA and they're all excited about it up here.

Personally...meh. If he makes it he makes it. I doubt the contract carries much in the way of guarantees and it can't hurt to take a look.
