Lee's contract situation pretty much locks him on the roster with his $9 mil cap hit since we can't get out of that, so the top 4 WRs are known...

This is in no particular order as they all pretty much rank the same... maybe an edge to Dede here.

So the 5th WR spot is up for grabs. I'm looking at three primary contenders for that 5th spot...

Terrelle Pryor
Michael Walker

I'm like the Walker possibility since he's also be a return specialist should he earn a spot.

A few other UDFAs are in the mix (Tyre Brady, Dredrick Snelson and Raphel Leonard), although their more likely to make the Practice Squad should any make the team.

I was thinking a tall possession type WR would be a great compliment to the offense and Foles, like Alshon is for the Eagles. Westbrook and Chark came in for their deep threat success/potential and Lee is more a quick slot type. At least Pryor covers the tall part.

It's a very low risk, possible high reward signing. He's big and fast, but his problem has been staying healthy.

It kind of makes me question a bit why they didn't go for a big WR target in the draft, especially considering how many well-regarded prospects slid. It seemed like a big physical receiver was a need, and signing Pryor seems like the team may agree.

Of course, signing Pryor now is basically zero risk without having to use any draft capital, but still...

If he's anywhere close to what he was in '16, I think he has a chance as a third receiver, if it's a one year prove it deal, what's not to like?

Most of us has noticed the pendulum to which I myself was satisfied w/our receivers as we're the front office in my opinion. I also do feel that Pryor possibly could hinder an promising WR to excel for several years BUT, that's only if Pryor makes the 53-Man roster.

Time Will Tell.

Oddly I'm currently in the home town of Terrelle Pryor right now, Jeannette, PA and they're all excited about it up here.

Personally...meh.  If he makes it he makes it.  I doubt the contract carries much in the way of guarantees and it can't hurt to take a look.

Jeannette = Paradise

We used to play them in basketball when I was in high school.  I still recall keeping our heads down on the bus after the game so none of the rocks would hit us.  Such lovely people.  The funny thing is that I used to root for them because they were the only team in the conference that could beat Greensburg Central Catholic.

1. There isn't a TE on the roster that compares well to Marcedes Lewis. Swaim and Oliver fit the Y and F roles in DeFilippo's intended system very well. 
   
2. You can't trade a player coming off of an ACL rehab. There is no market for that. 
   
3. Lee doesn't need to be a #1 guy. He just needs to do what he's done when healthy and benefit from having a competent QB getting the ball out on time and accurately.

And another coincidence, they moved from Greensburg to Jeannette...although my phone says Harrison City.  It's a nice neighborhood, although I HAVE seen other parts of Jeannette where I wouldn't want to get out of the car.

I've always been in the camp that the WRs were fine and we'd be ok. I was open to one of the WRs in the draft, especially if Metcalf fell to the 3rd, but I wasn't concerned myself. 

There just seems to be a bit of a flip on the opinion of the WR group around here in general.
