But he's still a vastly more successful president than anything we've had in this millennium. I'm not sure why it's difficult to differentiate the job from the person.

I don't agree with you, but your point of view is consistent, at least.

I happen to think that being congenial and trying to unite people is part of the President's job, but it's also Congress's job, and it takes two to tango.  I think Bush tried.  I think Obama would have tried harder at the beginning if he didn't have 60 votes in the senate, but the die was cast and could not be recovered for the final 6 years of his presidency.  But Trump isn't even trying.  Dude keeps a long list of enemies and never says anything about common ground with any of them.

You can point to economic indicators, but those run on the animalistic bull-bear spirits more than on government policy.

You can point to all the regulatory law changes or the court appointments, but those can be easily undone by the next president.

When you actually look at the stuff that government is supposed to watch out for, we are stuck.  We are making no progress even as threats change.

You get it. Too bad some other people don't.

I don't like Howard Stern or his show. I was simply listening to him that one day and I didn't even listen to the entire interview. I just couldn't deal with Trump's narcissism or Stern's 7th grade humor. It was just an observation. I had never listened to Stern at that point, but had heard people talk of him, so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I live in Ohio and we didn't get those kind of characters on the radio, so I wanted to see what the big deal was. I'm sure everyone on this board has watched something at least once, they had heard of by reputation just for curiosity sake. He had Trump on that day. I thought both men had a lot in common. I haven't listened to Stern since then. Watching him was like watching a "dumbed down" version of Jerry Springer.

At some point Trump's lack of a moral compass and ignorance, or even curiosity, of history and the U.S. Constitution will come into play. If and when that happens, I hope your Trump padded pockets carry you through.

I just don't get why you guys are hoping and praying for things to go wrong just because you don't like the guy. It's sad that for you to be happy the country has to do poorly. These are economic boom times but all we get is perpetual grousing about how awful things are and a panel of Democratic lightweights who want people to think they can make it better by undoing what's made things good.

I tend to agree with you, but I would have said the same thing while Obama was president and the cavalcade of whiners like Paul Ryan and Dinesh D'Souza kept saying everything was wrong
Some things were wrong, yes,but not everything, and it seemed like they wished for even worse.
