2019 Training Camp (Updates)

Not playing is one thing, but not practicing hard to make up for it is completely different. I hope they step it up next week. There is no way they will be ready for a 1PM September day if they aren't playing or practicing hard in th4 heat.

I wonder if he's still having those elbow issues and if that's one of the reasons why he doesn't throw in the off season.

Health concerns and the ability to play a full 16 game season are a huge question mark with Foles. I wonder if his elbow will hold up, or if there will be a noticeable drop off as the season wears on..

Sometimes, I wake up at 3AM and lie awake and worry about really silly stuff like whether the grass is going to get mowed or not.

Do you have an H.O.A that likes to act like they're the tax man from the old British days across the pond?

Nope.  Just making a point about worrying unnecessarily.

Lucky you. The rest of us peasants have to get permission to do anything with an H.O.A.

Dont have a problem with it, I want to see them compete. It feels like a real lottery checking in here lately, what will the news be today.

Im thinking we may get a Foles drive on Thursday, first 'home game', may be good to get something going. I think well rest a lot of starters again and see if the backups have improved in a week.
As to your last paragraph, that is a no go.  Marrone announced the game this week will be approached the same way as last week.

Thanks Bullseye, I get where Marrone is coming from, especially after the last 48/72hrs.

We seem to be focusing on just getting as many healthy guys to week 1 as we can. The play them/rest them argument will have hindsight in a few weeks!!! I get the logic but the first 7 games are tough. Theres healthy and football healthy.

Just seems a real change from that first Marrone training camp. 4 straight days of pads work in the heat.

New quarterback, new offensive coordinator, Sacrifice preseason games for reps will be answered on opening day. Was it the right call, we will find out soon enough.

From the reports I’ve seen the starters are getting like 40-50 practice reps a day to simulate gameplay without the enhanced injury risk. Lageman even mentioned this on Jags Happy Hour. Whether or not those reps are simulating gameplay is one thing. But without a doubt they are certainly practicing hard in the heat.

My fees aren't too bad. It's just a yearly deal for me. Thankfully. But Kingdom Management certainly does not get a vote of confidence from me and most of my neighbors.

Except they've already said Foles knows the Flip system inside and out and that he was already ahead of the rest of the offense from day one. I'm not worried about that part.

I'd be absolutely shocked if they don't play next week. That's all I really care about.

Indeed.

Healthy starters will get about a half of live action play, which is more than enough for guys like Calais, Nick, Jalen, Yan, etc.
Guys still nursing injuries (Lee, Robinson, Taylor etc) will probably be held out entire preseason.

I'd rather take this approach than starting the season missing key players v the KC Chiefs, tinhorns, and tacks.

I used to have them...I mean they used to have me.

Agree a million percent.  They suck, and they love to pad the bank account of their attorney.

After needing time to get stucco repaired, sue to the vendor not being available for 6 weeks, they keep sending letters from the attorney, and tried to bill me for being in violation for something I had no control over.

After resolving that, their attorney had the GALL to call me and ask for me to cover a case for him in St. John's County, after hearing that I happened to be there.   Pound sand man....pound sand.   Freakin' attorneys!!!!!

I wanna see Foles! More Minshew madness....

I wonder if Marquise Lee's injury changed their outlook? Try hard, trying to make a name for himself.

Sooooooo, we rest our starters in the first two pre-season games while our second and third stringers go up against our opponents first stringers. Within the last two pre-season games we play our starters that'll go against our opponent's second and beyond stringers.

Am I mistaken by saying that they'll (our starters) be more susceptible to injuries because of the fact that opponent's third stringers and beyond will be head hunting while trying to make the 53-Man roster?

Just don't play them at all at this point.  I understand where you are coming from and thats why i prefer to just sit them into Week 1.  I think its dumb but it also makes sense if Foles is the best option we have and if he goes down, then its refund city for ST holders.  The only injury that matters is QB since he is the most questionable player on offense right now and the most important.  I do, however, want a refund if i'm charged to watch the backups and practice squad players for regular prices.

You are mistaken.

Week 3 will see some of our starters briefly vs the dolphins starters.

Week 4 our starters won’t play.

Holding starters this preseason to about 30% of the live snaps they would have played is not increasing risk.

It is quite the opposite.

I don't think that it's a bad thing to sit front line players for the first two preseason games scrimmages.  There is really no reason to play them.  I imagine that most of them will play some in the third preseason game scrimmage and none of them in the fourth preseason game scrimmage.

It's a new concept and makes sense (at least to me) to keep them healthy and fresh when they play actual games.
