Glad to have jack locked up though.

They offered Yan top 4 money as well and a shorter term. It takes two to tango. Sometimes guys get bad agent advice.

Exactly, Yan had the chance to sign.  He will get another opportunity after he gets tagged

I can’t see the Jags keeping two LBs taking a large percentage of the cap. I wonder if this is the writing on the wall for Smith.

In the NFL you don’t get paid for what you’ve done. You get paid for what they hope you can do.

Or else when Tom Brady retires they will give him the biggest contract ever.

You know Brady is the worst example to use for any contract related debate. Not every NFL player is married to a multi multi millionaire.

And yes it's paid for what the team hopes you can do going forward, but when a player gets a top 3 contract they usually have shown significantly more than what Jack has thus far.

I really like Jack, so I'm glad he signed, but that number seems high. I sincerely hope this doesn't effect our ability to re-sign Ngakoue and Ramsey and possibly even re-structure Campbell.

Honestly, Smith wrote it himself already.

Good, we needed to sign at least 1 of the 3 young guys this year to hopefully keep all 3 down the road.

Nice... Now pay Ngakoue.....

I like Jack, but why pay him so much? He wouldn't take less? He certainly hasn't earned top 3 LB money. Who else in the league would pay him that much?

Leaves good flexibility for Ngakoue/other transactions deal eventually this season.

Jalen's happy: https://twitter.com/jalenramsey/status/1...6132652032 (lol at the candles joke Big Grin)
Yannick's happy too but that goes without saying, him and Myles are great friends.

I really hope they get something done with Ngakoue. Having those big 3 from that draft class, along with Josh Allen, all locked up for the next 4 years would be great. Those 4 guys could/should be the core of this Defense for awhile. Get it done FO!

It’s top 3 money for him now, but 3 or 4 years from now it could wind up 8th or 12th etc

So it’s not like he’s getting paid as the 3rd best LB. It just happens to be 3rd highest as of now.

He isnt the 3rd best LB in the league. Great deal for Jack. Unless he plays better the next few years we'll look back on this as having overpaid.

That is a lot for Jack. I hope he lives up to that contract. Good news he is till really young.

It all depends on what the guarantees are, fully or injury. Smith only got $19 million fully guaranteed, so I hope Miles is similar.

He’s at least top 5 MLB right now, and has potential to be top 1 or 2, for years

Zero reporting on what the actual structure, total guarantees or money up front as though. All incredibly important to determining what a good or bad deal is.

Not even slightly top 5 right now.
