When Richardson replaced Cann....

#1

Our offense ended up successfully mauling Denver's front 7 and leading to Fournette's tremendous 2nd half.

Did fatigue play a role? Probably.

Is it a coincidence? I think not.

Will Richardson is an ascending player, hasn't hit his ceiling. Cann is descending and battling injury. Probably knows his days are numbered so he's trying to keep himself out there.
No pain, no gain.

Release Cann. Richard played like a beast today.

Release? No. Bench? Yes. Deactivate? If he's the ninth lineman, sure. Invite to the top of the Modis building? Only if it looks like he's starting again.

Cann tried to get Minshew hurt. His attempts at pass blocking already took out Foles and he was trying to go 2 for 2 in that category. Hopefully Richardson will remain in the starting line up going forward. Both Minshew and Fournette will be happy.

Agreed.

I don't see how Richardson doesn't get the start next week and the nod going forward. The OL looked better when he was out there. Cann had some really bad misses today.

I agree that we played better when Cann was replaced but it's the same rotation of the past games. I also would like to see Richardson be named the starter at the position for the remainder of the season as well.

Time Will Tell.

This week's "Player to Release."

(Past "Players to Release" include Leonard Fournette and Gardner Minshew.)

Richardson is not great at OT, but he is a natural RG and should be the starter, period!. As far as cutting Cann, ummmmm....... no! We do need depth on the bench. I don't want Cann starting, but until we get some backup who is better, he needs to be part of the roster. I really like what I see from Richardson as a RG though.

Move on from Cann after this season IMO.

Should've moved on from him after last season.

Agreed. We need to find depth though, via the draft. We are already pencil thin when it comes to O-Line depth. If one of our O-Linemen goes down, there is a huge drop off to his replacement.

Amen, but that would've meant drafting some OG help as well, (which is something I was all for.)

I wouldn’t release Cann because depth is nice, but Richardson just sured up that offensive line. He’s playing with nothing to lose, it seems.

Now can we get Norwell to block???

Norwell looked really good

And lets not get it twisted, Cann was in during the big drive and the 3rd quarter. Give the man some credit.

I was about to say I thought I saw Cann replaced and then back in later...

(Either way though, when we were running better, I assumed Richardson took over for Cann)

Don't think any lineup did great in pass blocking

Yeah I think some are assuming Cann was replaced at half.

That being said, I'm all for Richardson taking over.

Also, Cann would be great to keep around.

And im also in favor of the replacement. Richardson will end up being much better than Cann.
But Richardson was getting beat just as much as Cann. Just feel like Cann is being unjustly buried.
That position needs to get it going. One of them needs to get their consistency on.

When it came to OL play... I was more worried about the play of our young tackles. Getting worked pretty regularly. Albeit by a couple of the leagues best... but Taylor had too many whiffs and penalties and Cam was probably the 2nd biggest OL problem child.

But they all played well v the tacks.... so maybe they'll get it all together this next week.
Would probably help if the staff would pick a lineup (OG) and stick with it. Rotating and stuff... I've never heard of so much of it 4 weeks into a season without injuries being the reason

Cann  did not try to get anyone hurt, His poor play may have resulted in injury or sacks on the quarterback but it’s an insult to say that he’s trying to get them hurt.
