You're just making things worse by moving Hayden outside. He's proven to be a good nickle CB. He hasn't shown much outside.

So now you move him outside in hopes he'll play well, all while opening up a big hole at nickle CB. Now you got two question marks when you only had one.

The smart thing to do is do whatever it takes to make Ramsey happy. I said it from the start and I'll say it again.... You simply DON'T trade away your best player, especially when he's just entering the prime of his career. Teams who trade away their best players are how bad teams stay bad. You simply don't do it.

Get rid of the old dude named Coughlin, who's on his way out anyways. I mean lets be realistic here... Ramsey is 24, Coughlin is 74... Who would you rather be here for the next 4-8+ years?

Be careful on absolutes. We do not know how Hayden may have faired outside, today. We also know Herndon 'can play' inside, per coach. If the Denver brass thought they can target that one player in your secondary on the perimeter, and did it repeatedly, with success, an alternate quick fix plan is not unwarranted.

No they didn't mix it up in the 2nd half.. Our Offense kept them off the field for most of it. Our Offense ate up 10 1/2 minutes of straight game time to start the 2nd half. They ended up controlling 12 1/2 minutes of that 3rd quarter. The one time the Defense had to come through in that 2nd half, they got smoked.... 16 yard pass play and 27 yard pass play back to back in obvious passing situations. Herndon being the whipping boy again when it matter, after being the whipping boy all day as well.

The coaching staff also told us Herndon could play outside and he got worked easier than a loaf of bread... And that was against a very mediocre receiving corps and a bad QB..

Ramsey makes this team better. I don’t think anyone doubts that. I wish he would put the ego aside for a while, at least until the offseason.

It goes both ways though with the ego.. Coughlin needs to keep his outdated ego upstairs in his office. He's the main cause of most of the problems with this team and why Ramsey wants out.

Please Explain to me exactly what Coughlin did or said that was so offensive to Ramsey. he made a comment about him being there during OTA’s Big deal. So I have to assume you have some inside information about what Coughlin did and I would like to hear it and if you don’t then get off Coughlins back. Ramsey’s  Acted like a spoiled brat who has little concerned for the players on the team.

I didn't say you said you don't need a good defense.  You specifically limited the discussion to shut down CBs.  To that end, why would having Ramsey amount to putting all of the defensive focus on one guy?  The team signed Campbell and Bouye to huge contracts.  The team made a trade for Marcell Dareus, who had another huge contract.  The team re-signed Myles Jack.  The team had re-signed Telvin Smith before he retired.  The team attempted to re-sign Ngakoue.  Seems to me the team thus far has focused on everyone BUT Ramsey.

Statistically overall, the 2017 Jaguars were better than the 2017 Patriots.  But the Patriot defense was better in the second half of that championship game.  We could get no running game going in the second half.  I also think the disparate officiating played a role in the loss too.

You didn't see the defense holding us back?  Herndon was beaten for two TDs and several other big plays.  The defense was going up against an immobile QB with a banged up and weak pass protecting line and didn't get any sacks.  They gave up 24 points, including losing the lead with 1:32 left.  Didn't hold the team back?

Now I readily admit the OL was problematic today.  But unlike the defense, the offense had two premier players long their defensive front to account for in Von Miller and Bradley Chubb.

Do we need Jalen Ramsey? About 30 teams "need" Jalen Ramsey. The question is, what are we willing to pay to make him happy?

I'm all for keeping the guy and trying to make him happy. But, seriously, there has to be a limit.

I'm all for making the effort to retain him. But you can't just give him "whatever he wants." That's stupid.

On the plus side - we have a perfect 2-0 record since the big baby put in his trade request.

We’re a better team with him playing. Any team would be. But at least it’s not hurting the confidence of the rest of the players.

And hopefully he’ll at least return to play out the season before he gets his dream move to join the mayonnaise-munchers in the off-season.

Yep. Even if they were able to potentially package those up to move around it's still a major risk.

Ramsey's value went up yesterday though. Until they figure out how to replace him he's going to be missed out there.

Looking forward to Carloina this weekend. Norv Turner has Christian McCaffrey involved everywhere on offense. Especially in the passing game.

Really need to see #20 out there. This next game will be a slug fest.

I was thinking Washington last week. Get a few quality picks. Add either Trent Williams at LT in the deal or maybe swap Ramsey for another decent defender. Norman at CB, Collins at S or Allen at DT.

Not overly confident in Herndon. Hoping it was just a case of the jitters and being on the road. He made a good play early and then swapped his cleets out with ice skates.

Herndon is going to get picked on every game. It's going to be stress. I watched Herndon at Vandy, he was always the one teams picked on then too. They stayed away from McGaster for the most part and then when he left and Williams took over, they stayed away from Williams. Herndon was always the other teams guy to pick on.

He has stated that it's not about the money. he doesn't want to be here. you cannot make a guy want to be here, no matter how much money you throw at him. The relationship is broken! If we're going to lose him sooner or later, you might as well trade him when his trade value is high. At this point though, with the team's unwillingness to deal him and Ramsey's unrelenting desire to leave, I expect this to be resolves in the off season, probably close to, if not during the draft.

Not a backup, but someone who is a solid starting player. Then, maybe we can talk. Two, low first round picks isn't gonna cut it though.

The defense did OK yesterday...OK.. but at the same time didn’t show up quite a few times. Having Ramsey in would have helped, but he is only one guy. How many times has Ramsey been there and our defense still didn’t show up? He may be able to lock down one guy, but he can’t lock down everyone. We have also proven we are capable of losing A LOT with him last year. 

Our offensive line ruined last season. Our offensive line has caused our run game to be incredibly weak the first 3 weeks of play, let our starting QB get hurt, and has Minshew dancing like Michael Jackson in the pocket. It’s a matter of time before Minshew gets hurt.

My point is, when the defense shows up as a whole, we are OK without Ramsey. Ramsey doesn’t want to be here and may continue to be plagued by ‘back’ problems until he’s out of here. In the meantime...if we could get a good blocking TE or OL for him...
