Ha ha every other team with QB issues is blaming their front office. Good to see that, FINALLY.
It's just luck sometimes. But he has a great background, shows a lot of willingness to work and adaptability on the go. Had a great season last year in college. If Foles doesn't go down? We never see all of this unfold. So sometimes luck plays a part in all of it.
The one thing that kept coming up with this kid in his stories and interviews was simply all about maximizing each and every single opportunity he had within in his grasp. And just how much everybody seemed to gravitate towards him because of his personality. Really don't think we can say it's a fluke now after an entire month of production. Hopefully they can just keep on building around him. We may have found our face of the franchise for the next decade or more if he keeps this up. That's a HUGE sigh of relief for any team or fanbase. Just boils down to that front office keeping him upright and keeping his production high up on the stat sheet. Looking forward to this Carolina game though. It'll be a tough one. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Nicely said Caldrac,
I love the ball placement and accurate passes by Mi.shew. You can say all you want about Velocity and arm.strength. But look at some of those TDs he's throw. And look.as to when he throws the ball. As much as the throw is on him he trusts his wrs to make the play. Back shoulder to Conley KC game the ball was almost at conley before he turned to look. Chark td in Tenn. Ball was in the air way before chark even beat butler. It's amazing to watch. As in, he believes the success is due to his scheme and it will continue regardless of who is qb. Flip has had buckets of praise for Minshew over the past few weeks. He may just be dialing that down a bit since the hype has likely grown beyond the actual production. These coaches have to manage some player egos as part of their job. Probably wise to temper the praise as well as any criticism. I wanted to dip the kid in bronze and raise a statue to him but yeah it is good to have those feelings tempered down. I hope he keeps growing because we have been absolutely starved for an offense we can watch and believe in on Sundays. That has been the hard part the past 10 years. It hasn't seemed like we could operate an offense. I'm biased towards Minshew because he has my last name as his first name ![]()

Maybe Dave is running a good scouting department and working well with them? Nah.

You want to give them praise but you don't want to roll the red carpet out for them and anoint them neither. But you can bet your [BLEEP] in the QB room there was high five's going around after that Denver game. Minshew made some throws and plays that are not common. Between the TD pass to Armstead, the TD pass that was nullified to Chark and the play where the ball bounced off the turf and he picked it up and still made a positive out of it? That's just good head's up football for a 6th RD pick going into just his 3rd official start. Especially behind this offensive line. He's not waiting around with his passes neither. He makes decisions quickly and has the confidence in himself to make that throw happen quickly. It's early. But if he can pull another good performance out of his hat against the Panthers it's just going to further cement his footing here in Jacksonville. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Don't forget the play where he escaped the sack, rolled to his right, and found Keelan Cole for a first down. It's interesting to watch the all-22 view of that play. Cole was coming from a LOOOONG way away but Minshew saw he was outrunning his guy, and nailed him right in the chest. He picked exactly the right guy to throw to, and it wasn't the one closest to him. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

He really did make quite a few throws in that game that we haven't seen here in a long, long time. It's his release and quickness with his decisions though that give me a lot of hope as a fan. Especially on his out routes. He was putting those on the money for the most part. He seems to really like Westbrook in those situations. Another throw too that could have been huge was the one to Conley on their first or second series. They were backed up inside the 10 I believe and Conley either didn't expect that pass or he got lost with the sun hitting him in the face. But I remember the commentator in particular (Fouts I think?) saying had Conley kept running through that route it's probably a 90+ yard TD reception. It was a great throw. Carolina is going to be a test defensively though. They're the NFL's 4th ranked defense overall. Number one against the pass. But twenty-fourth against the run. This is a game where I would rather see Fournette and Armstead chip away at their front seven and then see Minshew get some big chunk plays downfield with the play action game for sure. We'll see. Haven't been this excited over a match-up since Pittsburgh of last year. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie?
