Let alone this quickly, before this season is over with. But the Panthers owner David Tepper has come out on more than one occasion and expressed strongly that he will not tolerate losing/medocrity. And he may feel that this is a big step in trying to make this team better. A new, cocky inexperienced owner. Hedge fund guy, so ego comes with the territory. Much like Jerry Jones. Jones an excellent businessman, but delusional regarding football decisions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ![]() Fix the O-Line!

This likely has as much to do with Rivera's relationship with a new owner as it does the team's productivity. Agree This looks like a power restructure that Rivera wasn't onboard with and Tepper decided to pull the cord early
A big reason he was fired was due to Tepper being insistent on heavy use of analytics and Ron doesn't really believe in them to that degree
I posted on another thread last night or this morning that I thought Rivera was better suited to DC rather than HC. After watching his press conference, I've changed my mind. He'd definitely be an upgrade for us and have us competing for division championships every year.

He stated not too long ago publicly after that loss to the Packers in Green Bay that he wasn't going to tolerate losing and mediocrity. This is him living up to his word. Some of us may not like it or agree with his method. But it's his team. His method. He should hire Tom Coughlin to oversee football ops for him We show less advertisements to registered users. It'll be interesting to see who they hire and how they handle the QB situation. Newton hasn't been the same since those injuries added up but it's not like Allen has improved that much.
Brutal games against the Falcons and 49ERS [Which is fair] and then a loss to the Redskins has fans wanting Newton back in the line up. Would make a good DC at Jax. Would bring back solid fundamental D. You won't see LB's and Safeties constantly playing out of position.

"So looking for these big bulky defensive end-type players is no longer relevant. What you’re looking for is you’re looking for the Brian Burnses of the world. I just thought he did some really amazing things. You have to find the sideline-to-sideline guys who can play every down." Would love to see what he could do with Yan and Allen in a 3-4 or a more hybrid defense
Barring something that changes before the documents are signed, Ron Rivera will be the new HC of the Redskins. Despite the fact that there's still an opening for the key front office person in the organization.

Another name I have heard rumored for the DC position is Steve Wilks, who was Ron Rivera's DC with the Panthers before a 1 year stint as Cardinals HC. We show less advertisements to registered users.
