Both of these guys had a few interesting things to say, beginning with Marrone stating that the QB position will be an open competition between the 3 players on the roster.

Based on Caldwell's comments about Jack I suspect/wonder if we we may see three or four distinct (personnel-wise) LB packages depending upon player acquisition.

• An early down base package (featuring 3 LBs)
  
• An early down nickel package
  
• A third down nickel package
  
• Lastly - a less common short yardage, base/heavy package (goalline etc)
  
  

I think we may see more variance in personnel among these packages in an attempt to utilize skillsets. 
I think they may go back to moving Jack around situationally and try to coach him up to focus on his specific role per snap rather than everyone else's.

Yeah I think you're right, especially with him talking up Quincy Williams' versatility and coverage ability too.

I have seen him go anywhere between 4th - 8th. He's a good tackle. He's been compared to Ronnie Stanley. Good company.

Like I say, good player who may well be in play for us at 9, but far from a guarantee that they would pull the trigger.

I don't think there's any doubt the knee held him back some... What I couldn't understand is how they went into last season without any other real options at left tackle when Robinson wasn't really playing well enough before the injury.  Was he supposed to magically play better than he ever had coming off a major knee injury?

I can see them counting on him making a leap in performance with that experience and a fully healthy off season to prepare for next year.  It's also lying season, so smokescreen could very well be in play too.  Either way, I'm all for drafting the best big men they can get with the first two picks if the right guys fall to them... Planet Theory.
