AJ Bouye traded (merged)

Don't forget this draft is LOADED with talent.  A 4th this year is like a 3rd most other years.
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

This move will put us 33 million under the cap. And we will probably be making a few more moves with Lee, Swaim, and potentially Calais.

Yea I don't get why everyone is so upset.  He was a huge cap savings so he was gonna get cut.  There was zero chance we were bringing him back next year.  And instead of releasing him for nothing, we get a 4th round pick out of it.

The cap savings mitigate the laws. But at the end of the day you still have to get players to fill the holes that you're creating with all these trades and cuts. Given the general sentiment regarding our current management I'm not so sure why this is such a cause for celebration. Even as a person who has faith in Caldwell's ability to draft it's going to be very difficult for him to get all those holes filled filled with good players. On the defensive side alone there are a minimum of six holes will have to fill, including both CBs.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Whoever is upset about getting a 4th round pick when we were gonna get nothing and he was gonna be gone anyway is just crying to cry. Maybe this can be part of the package to dump foles salary to somebody.

If the plan is to franchise Yan in order to trade him, the Jags cannot really afford to let Calais go. Even if having him as a full time starter may overwork him.

Not only that, didn't most the board expect Bouye to be let go? Especially if they were going to keep Calais and franchise Yan? There was really no other option cap-wise.

The draft was always going to be nearly all defense. And, Tre Herndon was not bad as 2nd CB who was starting for 1st season.
What? Who are you talking about? Our rookies, Ramsey, Yan, Jack? Calais, Bouye played good the following year. There were only like 2 players on the defensive side of the ball the regressed bad but we saw there weknesses in the 2017. Barry Church, maybe T.Gip or Malik Jackson, Poz was slowing down down a little, but you build  on Everyone else that you have, free agency and draft to shore up weak position, not let everyone go and try to justify. The front office made the most mistakes and have not been accountable for [BLEEP].

I understand a short window but the whole D should not be gutted by the 3rd year, that is the front office making a lot of mistakes and they are still here [BLEEP] up the team

And Tre Herndon sucks, I don't know why people keep acting like we have one of the cb positions locked down with him. He was getting abused in live play, not analytics. Please don't try to see he was anywhere near the level of Bouye

My issue now is, if we are blowing up the team, blow up the team coaches and all....we need a complete haul, get Caldwell and Marrone the [BLEEP] outta here asap.

Also don't take this personal, I'm venting because I feel like with no experience as a gm, alot of our fans could have done a better job.. this is crazy. We might really have a 30 for 30 on us

Hmmmmm we all knew he would be a cap casualty so to get something for him seems like a win to me. Fourth rounder has decent trade value. We might even be making a move for big play Slay.

Getting a late 4th back for somebody that was probably going to be released anyways is solid.

Problem is now we have another gaping hole. 1 FA CB and 1 in the draft? 2 in the draft?

With the moves this team is making and the approach they seem to be taking, I have no doubts Khan has told them they have at least 2 more years.

Don’t rush to judgment yet. (Although we’re doomed anyway IMO lol). Caldwell understands he needs to win sooner rather than later. I doubt they use all the picks they’ve acquired for the draft. I expect to see a few trades for some vets in addition to some aggressive free agency moves (whether we land the target or not is a different story). All I’m saying is there are still moves to be made.

Looking like Tank for Trevor in full effect.

If they get rid of Yan, is this the least talented roster in the league?

Newsflash: When your GM is best known for getting draft picks for players, that isnt a good thing.

This team is a gigantic dumpster fire from top to bottom.
It's not as though no Jaguars fans have uttered those words in both situations.   This is the same fanbase who believed in Gene Smith.

As for your closing statements,  I agree with you.  I believe Caldwell is a good drafter.  But player retention is a disaster.

This is the lowest point I think I have ever felt about the organization
I totally agree.  Every week, at every turn, it is another kick in the gut.
I’ve heard Boselli mock the fanbase a few weeks ago, basically saying “what are we complaining about, you fans only go to 6 games at most anyway...”
I’ve heard Shad say we can’t be burdened with 7 games.
I’ve heard Sexton say “the NFL made a mistake....( and yes I know the context)”.
I know the various tv and media deals pay for all of the player and coaches salaries, so this off the field competitiveness is all about more money.  Meanwhile before he claims we are in the poor house, the franchise has gone from a $750 mill value to over $2 billion.
I don’t trust the franchise now.  I feel like I’m being lied to, and every step of the a way they’ve insulted us with the garbage we are expected to just swallow with no complaint.
Being a fan should have enjoyment to it.   Right now it is the opposite of that. It is a miserable experience in a daily basis.
I have no desire to listen to the radio, podcasts, or otherwise. It’s been beaten out of me.

It's a win win imo

Bouye was asked to restructure and declined, they were going to cut and got a 4th instead (I think they could have gotten a 3rd but whatever). Super deep CB class to try replace him.

For the Broncos I still think Bouye is an above average corner and they avoid having to sign a FA CB with big guarantees (bouye can be easily cut next year) but also they are overpaying a corner and have to move a 4th

They consulted the Veteran Players as part of the decision to retain Marrone so Campbell has some part in this potentially.

Honestly mark me down as apathetic.  This franchise is a mind boggling disaster. Nothing works and nothing is cohesive or belies any strategy.

Now should we be diving into this bag and doing a full rebuild from top to bottom with coaches and FO included? Of course but we know by now this team will never do anything but do half measure fixes

I've seen some mocks with us picking up Travon Diggs with pick 20, not sure if he is any good but gonna have to get someone even if we get someone in FA.
