You said absolutely nothing about Burrow a year ago. Joe is good no doubt but you’re acting like he’s light years better than Tua which just isn’t true. Agreed completely here. But for the substantial health concerns with Tua, you would have a QB with two plus seasons of excellent production vs. the one season of mediocre at best production vs. one season of excellent production. Those mixed results would leave scouts and GMs wondering why such a difference? The talent wasn't overly different around him. He is the same guy. Is he a system QB? What happens if he gets into a system that is dramatically different from what allowed him to excel last year at LSU. Given that the head coach came from the Rams, I think they have a QB friendly scheme, but who knows whether or not it can have the same effect on Burrow that Brady had for him last year? I think both will be very good QBs, and I don't knock either guy. But I hear those questions now, and I have heard too many analysts say that but for the injuries, Tua would be considered the top QB for me to dismiss that. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Not light years but he's better. We will see next week if teams feel the same way. The biggest difference is Burrow has pin point accuracy when pressured which will happen in the NFL, Tua folds.

I've heard a number say Tua is dropping regardless of injury concerns. Tua is far from a lock and there a number of concerns with Tua outside of injury (04-17-2020, 07:26 PM)flgatorsandjags Wrote:We won’t see anything next week because Burrow is going #1.(04-17-2020, 06:40 PM)Cleatwood Wrote: If Tua had zero health concerns, I think there’s a good chance he would be taken first overall. Lets see if Burrow can play a high level for more than 1 season.... Also, could you provide some links to people saying Tua is dropping and it has nothing to do with injury concerns. I would love to read it. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
First off thanks Bullseye
Second, Kane, for Wirfs he just is inconsistent with his pass sets against Big 10 teams, which typically don't have bendy guys like the SEC, where Willis is a stud. Watch the Auburn and LSU game for Willis. For the Tua/Herbert debate, both can be good Qbs, Tua might not go until the late 20s due to the injury concerns. Herbert has a pretty ball, but he really needs to get better with consistent touch, plus his frame scares teams, plus he never seems to be in rhythm. Also, the leadership question mark is a big one for teams. I got asked by 3 different teams about his leadership style at the senior bowl. Tua obviously had a great supporting cast, but the guy is pretty darn talented. He's not perfect as he reads very slowly and stays on his first read too long. Has better accuracy than Herbert. If Tua was healthy, think he would be a clear 1A to Burrow. Burrow, his knock is he could be a 1 year wonder who was perfect for Joe Bradys scheme. Lacks arm strength. He just reads the feel so well and jumps off reads with good timing. The hesitation is if he goes to a vertical passing offense can he succeed? He's not with the Bengals so doesn't really matter. For the OL debate, go watch Derrick Brown vs Bama and then watch him vs Oregon.....Bama dominated him with Willis and the RG(probably would have a been a 1st round pick this year) (04-17-2020, 08:01 PM)ColoJag Wrote: Second, Kane, for Wirfs he just is inconsistent with his pass sets against Big 10 teams, which typically don't have bendy guys like the SEC, where Willis is a stud. Watch the Auburn and LSU game for Willis. Wirfs is an odd one because guys that overset as often as Wirfs does usually do it because of lack of athleticism/light feet, think Cam Robinson. It's typically a deathknell for staying on the edge in the NFL. Wirfs is clearly a stellar athlete so I think he can be one of the few tackles that the problem is fixable. That said I also very much still love Wills Jr. One of those two should be our pick if Okudah and Simmons are off the board.
Here's my top 120, for what it's worth, which is nothing.

Antoine Winfield There is a major gap after pick 5. I'd be very surprised if any of those 5 fail to become elite players at their positions. I love the depth of the receiver and offensive tackle positions (especially receivers), but I just can't say with confidence that the top guys at these positions are slam-dunk pro-bowlers like the top 5 on my list. If I were to reach slightly for 1 player on this list, it would be Henderson. I would be very tempted to move him ahead of Wirfs and Thomas due to the huge gap between him and the next best cornerback. As horrible as the run defense was last year, cornerback is this team's greatest need by far. Herndon is not capable of covering any team's number 1 receiver. Henderson has the skill-set to do this and the height to cover the bigger receivers they will face. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! When I put it like that, maybe I should revise my draft grade up from a B?

I think it would be really interesting, if you have the time and energy, to put the actual pick number to the right of each pick. To see how well your top 120 agrees with the league-wide consensus top 120. |
