There's not a Big Ben in this QB class. Maybe Burrow at best. Herbert has the arm strength but lacks accuracy. Tagovailoa is a Glass Cannon coming out of college and could end up like Mr. Glass within two years just like RGIII. 

The risks are too heavy this year at QB. Passing up on a chance to land Lawrence or Fields next year is a mistake. It would be different if Minshew was a dud last year and we were picking 3rd overall tonight. 

But that didn't happen.

My point is that the draft is a crap shoot. Tua has the goods and if your only knock is healthy then to me, I look past that and swing for the fences.

score and you have all of the ingredients of a bust. The team needs too many other positions to gamble on a high risk QB. If Minshew leads us to the first pick in next years draft, then draft a better prospect.

I disagree.

Only way that guy fails is because of injury, which is reason enough to pass.  I don't care how bad he reads books, he can read the hell out of a defense.  Russell and Drew are tearing it up at 6' and under, too.

Out of all of the QBs in NFL history, only 2 clocking in at 6’ have won a Super Bowl. Neither one of them scored under 20 on the Wonderlic and neither had injury concerns coming out of college. Tua also had the best receiver corps in college football. I just agree to disagree about him. After getting benched for Hurts in the SEC championship game against Georgia, I fell off the Tua bandwagon.

I respect your opinion brother, but I have a hard time seeing an undersized, low IQ, injury prone QB breaking us out of any ‘vicious cycle’. This team needs playmakers who can make an impact THIS YEAR. Drafting Tua is tying up a roster spot that could be used on a stud WR, something this offense desperately needs opposite Chark. If we finish the season with 5 wins under Minshew, we’ll still have 2 first round picks (and possibly more after the Yan trade is done) to make a move in next years draft for a franchise QB.

This is a little different. We already have a pair of ones going into next year. Dumping seven and LA's pick (which could be top-ten based on how this year ended) plus a one next year and some change is a lot more palatable than doing our best Rams impression and trading away our next 30 first-rounders. If you're not 100% sold on Tua, you find someone who is and make them pay up.

This is a little different. We already have a pair of ones going into next year. Dumping seven and LA's pick (which could be top-ten based on how this year ended) plus a one next year and some change is a lot more palatable than doing our best Rams impression and trading away our next 30 first-rounders. If you're not 100% sold on Tua, you find someone who is and make them pay up.

The Dolphins could have traded up to 3 and kept 5 and the Bengals still weren't giving up 1. If Lawrence and Fields are as good as we hope next year there could be almost nothing we can do if we don't wind up with a top 2 pick all by ourselves.
