More Context to the Ramsey trade

If money was a driving factor in Ramsey's discontent here, I would have extended him before he became a problem, as with Yan. It wouldn't be so obvious if we have been a better drafting team over the years. But because we missed so many first round picks under Shack, missed EVERYTHING under Gene Smith, and missed too much under Caldwell, we haven't had many great players in the first place. Then when we are just blatantly willing to either let Pro Bowl players walk or otherwise drive them away, it's no shock our record has been so bad and the prevailing sense is that we can't ever truly make progress. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

The way I see it, Jaylen acted like a [BLEEP]. Wanted out, faked an injury and flat out wouldn’t play after being scolded for his sideline temper tantrum. He was a “once in a generation talent”. We got good compensation for him. To expect to get another “generational” talent from that pick or picks, seriously? Let’s assume he’s a HOF’er. Do you expect to draft another HOF’er? I certainly don’t. The draft can be hit or miss. If we get a couple guys that are solid I’m ecstatic. He wasn’t gonna play here anyways.

With few exceptions, there aren't many that have left and gone on to have a stellar career. I'm all for paying homegrown talent if it's there, but it really hasn't been. Since DC arrived, there have been abut 6-7 Pro Bowl players drafted by this team. Their status follows... Allen Robinson: not extended by the team. Left via free agency Telvin Smith-Got a second contract. Retired after one year under his new deal for unknown reasons. has criticized the FO since. Jalen Ramsey-Traded away. Yannick Ngakoue-Wanted a new deal and did not get one. Now wants to be traded and has tried to burn every bridge to achieve that result. DJ Chark just got here two years ago Josh Allen-just got here last year You can't have any kind of sustained winning when you let talent like this leave, especially of you don't have a franchise QB that you are paying. When you add poor player development to the mix (warhop)...one winning season in the last 12 years is what you get. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Out of the 2 players that left, A Rob is the only one I think we should regret letting go. It was Highway robbery for what we got for Ramsey and Smith hasnt been right since Poz left. Yan is still here and has the worst agent in all of sports and is realizing he made a huge mistake in not taking the money last year, more than any other team would be willing to give him. I bet Yan plays this year for the Jags (04-24-2020, 06:49 PM)flgatorsandjags Wrote:(04-24-2020, 06:43 PM)Bullseye Wrote: Since DC arrived, there have been abut 6-7 Pro Bowl players drafted by this team. If Yan stays, the Chaisson pick becomes a way of replicating the 2017 edge rusher rotation. But to have Yan leave, on top of all of the other guys is NOT conducive to winning. Worst to 1st.
