FWIW, CBS Sports had Reed rated as the 114th best player going into the draft.  That equates to an early 4th rounder.

He's rough around the edges. He's a Bulldog. That's my college team. I think he'll make the roster as a 2nd string / ST player. If they can work him in at FS he might give Wilson a run for his money.

He's a good fit right now for Zone schemes. And he's actually a pretty aggressive and willing tackler so the run defense should improve with him in the line up.

I do worry about his deep coverage ability though. He was beat over the top from time to time. But as far as staying shallow and close to that 10 - 15 yard range? He'll thump some people for sure.

Maybe the Jags already had a free agent commitment from Ross before they picked.

There were 32 additional picks remaining in the draft's 7th round after the Claybrooks selection earlier in the round.

Yeah, teams don't really follow the rules on things like, "No agreements with UDFAs before the draft ends."

If someone else had drafted Ross, oh well. If not, one less player to compete for in the hours following the draft.

Yeah, teams were already having talks with potential udfa candidates b4 and during the draft

Yeah, I thought about that, but I can see Marvelous having a role within the offense too. Jaydon Mickens 2.0

Did we lose J.R. Reed?

I did not see him on the official roster.

He was not there when I checked this morning.  Checked and rechecked.

Thanks.
