I honestly think Ballard crushed it this year within our division. Especially for a team that gave up it's 1st RD pick for Buckner who will pay dividends early for their defense. He goes into RD2 understanding that Rivers will need more than just T.Y Hilton to throw the football to and he snags Pittman at WR, Taylor at RB and he got a pretty good deal in Rivers heir apparent with Eason in RD4. 

Julian Blackmon at S is going to be pretty good. Don't be shocked if that kids up there on a weekly basis with Chase Young for DROY honors. I think that's an underrated pick for them. And he has CB instincts playing back there at S but will not hesitate to stick his nose in there and then some in the ground game. Patmon with his size and speed at WR could end up a steal for them in the 6th RD. 

Rivers is known for not being shy and giving guys a chance to go up and get it.

I do like what the Colts did but give me Shenault over Pittman

Blacklock was never going at #20 in a million years in reality though. Fulton sure, but he was probably their only actually good pick after a horrific 1st rounder.  

They had bad drafts, worse ones than us even considering we had more of them to use and higher placements

Fulton was never cracking the first round either.  He went right about where he should have.

funnily enough most analysts , bookies and mocks disagreed he went right where he should have.

also, what happened to Winfield being the first safety drafted?

nah he was pretty shutdown vs elite competition for his whole career in college. Just has a dodgy past with drug tests + isn't a crazy athlete + had a bad game late which tends to cloud peoples minds.  fwiw i think hes better than both terrell and arnette

I dunno if that was a bad game or if he was just playing safe to avoid getting hurt. Either way, it was a bad look in my eyes, and glad someone else ended up with him.

I can't agree here. To me our draft was head scratching past the Bartch pick. Even with the picks after him that I didn't think were necessarily bad choices, seemed to be better picks available.

Best Pick: It was their first, taking quarterback Blake Bortles with the third overall pick. They had to take a quarterback, and he was the best in this class.

Questionable move: Taking Bortles. Not by me, but many others will question it.

Third-day gem: Fifth-round pick Telvin Smith is an undersized linebacker who will add some much-needed speed to the defense. Analysis: They got their franchise quarterback and then followed that up with two receivers with the next two picks. That's smart. They also got a tough-guy guard in Brandon Linder in the third. They nailed it, especially by taking Bortles.

I'm old enough to remember when nobody knew what was going on in Jacksonville and their negative reporting wasn't to be trusted.

Suddenly they give us top 10 draft "rankings" and they all now know what they're talking about.

Our draft may really be a lot better than I feel about it. At the same time, It may be difficult to tell if we struggle like we seem to be set up to. If it does end up being a home run draft, we'll need another behind it for us to take any big steps forward/upward.

They didn't make any sexy picks, nor did we have any talent fall to us on our first pick like it did last year. It was a good draft but nothing remarkable about it that would make it a top 5 draft IMO.
