I don't really care about Joe's tax plan.  I'm sure it will cost me a bundle.  But I'm not willing to vote for Trump.  He is a dirt bag. 

I will make the financial sacrifice for the good of the country.  

I'm a Republican more than a Democrat.  But to me, the biggest issue in this campaign is that we have the most dishonest and ignorant President in the history of this country, a man who also has a severe personality disorder, and we have to get him out of there.

That's my position.  I'm not going to go down the rabbit hole with you guys into a 50 page argument.  It does no good, anyway, because none of you guys are going to change your mind.

I learned something a long time ago.  The best way to change anyone's mind is to state your position and then let it go.  An argument is the worst way to change anyone's mind.  But I don't think that's what you guys are really after.  I think you're just in it for the sport.

It's hard to change someone's mind on a message board, because most people who are invested enough to participate on one are already active in the political world. I do think the people who are less likely to post, but lurk in the background, are more susceptible to persuasion, because they are coming here for additional thoughts, not necessarily to share their opinion. I do think message boards are useful, though, because you can see how the non-politician perceives the political world. It's just as important for me to know Marty's reasoning as it is for me to know RJ's, or homebiscuits, or Stroudcrowd's. So, while you might not change my mind TRM, you do help me understand the motivations of others like you, and I think that is important.

When I finished, she said, between Biden and Trump, which one is going to make less rules? And I said, they will each make rules in their own way (even though that's supposed to be limited), but probably Trump. And she said, well, that's who I'd vote for. Thought it was interesting that even at a young age, a person might choose based on what they don't want.

Or I don’t subscribe to team politics. Just because trump is republican doesn’t mean he automatically gets my support, he’s careless in his actions and words and that has real consequences for real people. I said pretty clearly I won’t support socialism via proxy through the Democrats but that doesn’t mean I’ll support crony capitalism via trump either. No politician especially the head of the executive state should be picking winners and losers in a free market. Justify that GOP so much for free market capitalism huh?

I agree. But where Goodyear stepped on their crank is when they targeted a specific political party and candidate. What the little guide should have said was prohibited is "Political slogans". Someone in HR should be reprimanded.
