I'm just worried that our Offense will be solid this year, but we'll still lose multiple games by scores like 28-34 (us - them) final score etc etc, because our Defense isn't going to be able to stop anybody. I think our Offense will be able to put up some points, but I have very little faith/hope in our Defense.

We're basically a Josh Allen injury away from this Defense topping out at 15-20 total sacks on the entire season.

Refuses to play here... Then goes and takes 3.6 less than the lowest reported offer we made? I’m sorry, Yan is huge dumb. Dude lost a lot of $ the last 2 years no matter the finer details of the offers made prior. He better hope he has a monster season, or he better get used to 12 mil or less per season. He has no idea just how dumb settling on 12 a year could be for him.

Clearly there's far bigger things going on behind the scenes with this franchise that keeps driving elite talents away from here.

And honestly, who can blame them. Calling him dumb for wanting to move on from a historically bad franchise is pretty stupid. 

He's going to a much better team, with a far better Defense from top to bottom. They have duo play makers at DE, LB and Safety. Besides an injury, he's highly likely going to post the best numbers of his career this year and cash in. It's basically a win-win for him, while this franchise continues to be a laughing stock.

OK, so he still took a 6 million pay cut and a shorter deal, if he does not have a good year or gets hurt, he'll cost himself even more down the road.

This whole saga allegedly stems from being offered a "disrespectful" contract from Tom, which rumors had it the length and money were an issue for Yan's side. That deal would have paid him more this year than what he took, as would the tag. I don't care how you slice it, stupid or not, he objectively took the worst possible offer. While making a very risky/poor decision on his future earnings. 

Its clear his(and your) thinking/hatred for the Jaguars is irrational, and hes certainly within his right to feel that way.  As far as we know, he did objectively chose the worst possible outcome financially for this year. Period.

Totally on point.  Yan giving up that much money makes no sense.  There are no guarantees that he'll get a monster contract next year so he's just passing on $6M out of spite.  I'm personally glad the saga is over and that we'll have more draft capital for next year.  

Rooting for the Vikings to win the SB and get that 3rd rounder!

Agreed completely.

The worst thing for this team would be that Minshew is good,  but not be good enough to be the franchise signal caller, yet win enough games so that we are out of position to Land Lawrence (or Fields) without having to trade up.  That's assuming Lawrence and Fields were to be draft eligible and declare. If one or both stayed in school another year (hopefully this damn pandemic will be ancient history fast), that also falls into that worst case scenario.

The Jags are in such a state right now, that I won't be surprised when we get the top pick of the draft, the top 2 QB's don't declare because of a canceled college football season.  I'll just be disappointed.

I can't see either of them back next season without some unexpected results on the field.  Owners cut coaches and GM's loose more often with one year left on their deals than they do have them go into a season with a one-year lame duck contract.   There could be mutiny if they don't produce this season and return.
