I'm betting its because he doesn't have the coverage skills that Taven had in the endzone against Tennessee....

at the 5:20 mark, Taven is such a beauty.

Not this again... lmao
This is a results-oriented business.  There are no trophies or titles given for "moral victories" or for "winning the draft".  Our record with DC is 37-86.  6-10 is our 2nd best season in 8 years of Caldwell leadership.  These are the FACTS.

Yeah this is weird considering how we're struggling on the Dline. Not saying he's a gamechanger but there's still gotta be more to this.

Watch out with that.

There’s a madden playbook creator lurking around these parts who would love to school you on the nuisances of DT coverage.

LOL... you're still upset about getting schooled, huh?  Don't worry... I won't embarrass you any further.

He played 54 snaps across 3 games and got almost zilch on the stat sheet.

He's just another dude. Perhaps they're looking to promote a PS guy or just give more snaps to more effective linemen.
Guess we'll have to wait for some official announcement.

They kicked the tires on a cheap, veteran guy battling injuries and it didn't work out.  We signed him in August despite the Texans failing him on his physical.   Not a big deal.

Did he say something about Wash? He wasn't playing a ton, but he's a vet, so I think he gets paid his full salary right? Why cut him now without anyone to replace him in the next week?

Yah... he gets his money because he was a vet on the roster Week 1.  We were paying him around vet minimum... about a million, give or take.  Houston signed him to a 3.75 million dollar contract right before we did, but they failed his physical and voided the contract.  We took a chance and signed him despite that failed physical in Houston (I guess he passed ours), but I am assuming his body is beaten down so much he just can't be effective anymore.

He's making over $1 million. Needed to let him go to manage our cap.

His contract was for $1,047,500.

Vested veteran players in the NFL who are on the Week 1 roster have their contracts guaranteed for that season:

Cutting him didn't save us any cap money. He was banged up and wasn't effective anymore. We probably should have known this was likely, given that the Texans voided their contract with him after he took their physical during the summer.

Guess he's a big body, who isn't big enough...

I'm interested in what can be done with this DL because they're getting minimum pressure.

I'm pretty sure it was a sarcastic comment since they don't need to save any cap money

Maybe there is a younger guy out there they would like to get on the roster so they had a free up a spot. His stats were fairly non existent, so bringing someone else in couldn't get much worse. Hopefully thats the case, if not it doesnt make sense to just release him.

he was released because he was done filling in for the DL guy that was suspeneded the first 3 games we will be activating him this week and he was probably better then TJ, that would be my guess
