Spoiled Bologna! Does Marrone finish out the season?

It is sad watching other teams fire their coaches and wishing it was the Jags.

Not sure a broom would be up to the task.  Let's pitch in and get one of these to make sure it gets done right.

With any luck it might remove the owner as well.

As much as I want Marrone gone, my worry is that firing him now would mean that we don't have any decent coaches available, then we commit to another bad coach and since he would have joined midway through the season, the argument would be made that he needs a full year, which then leads to us being stuck with another bad coach for a year and a half or more.

The next coaching staff needs to be considered carefully. If we get a high draft pick, this becomes even more important.

Fire him now.  At least the interim coach gets 11 games and if he gets 8 wins, he deserves the job.  Anything less and it's an open competitive process at year's end.

Marrone is a dingleberry.

Are you kidding? Houston and ATL now have a jump on scouting the candidates. it's because we wait so long, if at all, that we will be stuck with the leftovers.

We aren't changing, that's a pipe dream.

I get that, and I would be stoked if Marrone and Wash were fired immediately. But knowing the Jaguars FO, I would just be worried that whoever takes over for the time being immediately looks better than Marrone (which is easy), then Khan thinks that he should get a chance for another year rather than (over)paying a good coach (from college?), and then we are stuck with garbage again. Its more to do with how this team has constantly settled with mediocrity for way to long, rather than going for something bigger, which is also why I think Minshew isn't our guy if we want to win big in the NFL.

I like the Martin Mayhew call. Give me Mayhew and Bieniemy with Phillips or Romeo as DC. Make the move to 34 this offseason with another NT and ILB plus 2 additional DBs. Then spend the high draft capital on playmakers.

I prefer John Dorsey

Dorsey drafted/signed

Eric Fisher
T. Kelce
Dee Ford
Duvernay Tardif
Marcus Peters
Not that they are great but noticing he drafted Conley and O'Shoug in the same draft
Chris Jones
T. Hill
Myles Garret
Njoku
Jarvis Landry
Denzel Ward
Nick Chubb
Maclin
Beckham
K. Hunt

I am a fan, not a cheerleader.

Bye week will probably be too early, but I could see a week 12/week 13 dismissal, especially if we go winless over that stretch. I kind of wonder if DC doesn't issue an ultimatum at the bye, though, regarding Wash. If Doug stays loyal to his buddy, they could both be let go.

I agree.   Khan is conning us again about winning.

I for once see completely eye to eye on this.

Dorsey would be a great asset in Jax

I'm easily persuaded to that point of view.

I do not think Blank and Shad have been comparable. Dan Quinn's 5 years in Atlanta before this year were 8-8, 11-5 with a SB appearance, 10-6, 7-9, and 7-9. Our FOs resume utterly pales in comparison yet have been given years before that and are still around.

I think Doug and Dave are tied at the hip. One doesn't go before the other.
Though fans thinking that both are completely safe into 2021 might just be expecting the worst. I don't see them surviving a 3 win or less season. Which, at the moment, is looking more and more likely.

I think marrone is a nice guy, but hes doesnt bring much to the table, and there is no accountability on this team. Deffense looks like swizz and nothing changes.

I have a feeling we'll be surprised and see Marrone get the boot at the bye.

As much as I love the idea, I’m not even sure he’s a good offensive coordinator. If he can’t do that, what makes you think he’d be a good HC?
