That’s right, if glennon is looking to hot, might have to switch to Luton to ‘see what he’s got.’

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

There’s no need to un-tank now.

If we don’t get Lawrence or Fields, I can say that we are screwed. I love Minshew, but he needs a much better supporting cast than we can provide in order to succeed. A true Franchise QB instantly makes us better.

Fields is not a franchise QB.  You can take that to the bank.

Starting to agree that Fields is not he answer.  IF we can't score Lawerence go with Sewell!

I thought this for awhile, then I paid closer attention. I think there's a real chance he could be the next Mahomes. Laurance is less clear. Tall pocket passers are not the way the league is going although I do expect he'll be the top pick.

It is a crap shoot on these QB's that play on clearly superior teams. They have a 5 star line and receivers playing for the most part against less talent on the other side. Here they definitely will not have that advantage, at least for the next few years. Even then the playing field will at best be level, not tilted to their advantage.

Lawrence is more like Mahomes/Wilson than Brady. Don't let his skin color fool you, that kid can move.

Thought that was just comparison for jumping?

Lawrence looks pretty good. Clemson has struggled when he was out. Hopefully the ND game for the ACCCG will be telling about him. It took ND double OT to pull out the win without TL there. Lets see how the next game goes with him in control.

That has nothing to do with it. He's a tall, skinny pocket passer. Yes, he's had some highlights of running the ball against NCAA competitions but all QBs do that occasionally. His 40 time is only in the 4.7-4.8 range and that's probably on a good day. His long strides make him look faster than he is. He's primarily a pocket passer and is probably going to be a good one but it's not like he's super-agile and he's likely to get physically beat up against NFL competition. I see him as a much better version of Byron Leftwich.

Mahomes ran a 4.8, Trevor ran a 4.7 as of now. FWIW, Peyton Manning also ran a 4.8. There is fast and there is football fast. Mahomes and Lawrence are football fast, Manning is not.

Is anyone talking about trask?

I would take Trask over Fields, any day of the week.

Well, I'm watching Fields against Michigan State right now. First time I've seen him playing in real time. He's got the tools but worried about the decision making. Not going down field at all. One read and run. Maybe he's just having a bad game but so far, not very impressed.

Locking this thread because it's gone off topic. We can continue college qb talk in the appropriate forum.
